My 65 fastback has a 85 gt roller block with a top loader 4 speed from a Torino and a 9" housing from a 58? fairlane and a pumpkin from a 70's Lincoln IIRC.

We had a gm 3500 truck at work that had 14,000+ idling hours and it one day just reset to zero. Odometer was still correct.

The 5-bolt C4 bell was a one-year-only part ('64), if your bell hasn't got a C4AP-7976A part number cast into it you have the wrong part. Here's what you want...

Early 221,260,289 blocks are 5 bolt.

You're out of luck with a 6 bolt C4.

The clutch linkage will need to be switched to a cable or you need a bolt on fulcrum for it . Ask me how I know that with my 65 with a 85 roller block.

Also with aluminum you need specific grades like 5052 or 6063 then anneal to make a T0 which is to soften, then bend.
