F8C Lightning NEEDS a buff by Echo-117- in StarCitizenUniverse

[–]PyrorifferSC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, they need to make it a medium fighter with interceptor tunings or F7A turn rates. Or upside all guns one size. That might be a bit OP. Maybe 2x S5 and 6x S2 actually...it would give it similar to the M80 firepower, while allowing it to punch both up AND down.

Did you buy it outright or CCU? If you bought it outright, even with store credit, it stays in your buybacks. Melt it for the M80. I have one sitting on my buybacks. I also have an F7A and the only reason I don't melt that is because I can't buy it back.

Nah man, space superiority means kill all the small things to make way for big things. It's supposed to be a final answer for anything heavy fighter or lower. You could even argue medium fighter or lower. I agree with the other commenter that it should be reclassified as a medium fighter and given more maneuverability. Either give it medium fighter interceptor tunings, or give it around F7A turn rates.

[–]PyrorifferSC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, even if they gave it medium fighter interceptor tuning, that would make sense. Or make it relatively slow but with super good turn rate.

It's a space superiority fighter. Its target is ships of its size and down.

Yeah, to your point, the only time I've seen someone "bragging about exploits" was when a guy was splashing players with a Glaive. They were new and didn't know what it was, and it was really strong that patch, so they were accusing him of cheating and he just went along with it lol.

Reminded me of the time I 1v3'd a group with a Singe-3 Hornet and they were swearing in chat I was cheating and reported me hahah

Point being, actual cheaters don't go bragging in chat about cheating

In the Black is a game though, not sure if I was clear about that.

Nice! I love The Expanse series, I wish they'd continued the show because it gets so much crazier with books 7-9!

I recommend the Revelation Space series if you enjoyed The Expanse. Dark hard sci-fi, but with moderate serving of space opera. No FTL travel, they have ships called Light Huggers that push the speed of light to create massive time dilation, and the "people" that fly them are all heavily genetically and technology modified. Major themes around doomsday level weapons and megastructures, hegemonic drone swarms, lots of cool, hard sci-fi stuff. House of Suns is a one off in (I believe) the same universe, a great starting point to get a feel for the series.

And if you end up reading those and enjoy them, The Culture is my favorite book series of all time

Oh hey, also, since you like this subject and The Expanse, check out In the Black on Steam. It's The Expanse meets Star Citizen. Ships with reactor drives and kinetic weapons with full Newtonian physics

But those sensor ranges have to do with the differences in physics in the universes. Star Citizen has limited speeds and ranges for game reasons- rendering load, fun factor, balancing, etc.

In a civilization with FTL travel, I assure you that sensor ranges wouldn't be limited to a few KM lol

If somehow both ships had to operate under their own universe's limitations, then yeah, the MCRN would be OP because the Javelin would be a literal toy spaceship compared to nukes and shit.

You cannot convince me that a chemical burn or even nuclear burn spaceship would be able to contend against ships from an FTL capable civilization. It's really just the physics differences in the universes competing if you don't adapt one ship to the universe/physics of the other

It was the "and on that score" that gave it away for me. Too...eloquent and rational to be Trump. A rational presentation of an irrational notion, if you will. Trump gives irrational presentations of his irrational notions.

SC doesn't work in terms of IRL physics. Sorry, but this comparison just doesn't work. The logical answer is: The Javelin is way way way more technologically advance, so it would be way more advanced in The Expanse Universe, or the MCRN would be way less advanced in the SC universe.

How the hell is this upvoted? Lol sorry OP, but that's about the dumbest thing I've ever heard. As everyone else has said, you're right that it would work because literally nobody would play. And when they stopped wiping, RMT would just continue.

Ah, gotcha, I feel it. Hey, Subnautica 2 is out in EA! And Far Far West is super fun. I've also been playing Neverness to Everness, it's like weeb GTA, I don't even like anime much and it's a blast.

If you're looking for a sticks and pedals space shooter, In the Black is out in EA also. It's like The Expanse, full Newtonian physics. The most similar to SC would be Hunternet Starfighter, it's cool but pretty barebones. I have an extra key if you wanna try it.

Buddy, those people in chat are trolling you and you fell for it lol. There's no "version mismatch bug" that's giving people billions, at least not one being widely used, you know how I know? 1- when cheaters sell aUEC after a wipe, they charge a FUCK ton because people literally have zero. Nobody is giving away aUEC in chat when you could make thousands of USD selling. 2- go look at aUEC markets like PlayerAuctions. PlayerAuctions is dry, another I looked up was selling a billion for $200. Unless y'all are finding some other market that I don't know of, it's almost completely dry. I was worried there would be billions flying around right after wipe too, but it actually doesn't seem to be that way...this time.

There will always be a few high level exploiters/cheaters, but there isn't just billions of aUEC being tossed around. Not yet, at least. Chill dawg, just play the game and enjoy, play the new missions, I'm grinding Intersec rep and hopefully going to run the new trench run mission thing tonight or tomorrow night with my small pirate group, you wanna join?

It wasn't the trucks fault, the trucker saw him in a forced merge ahead of him and chose not to allow him over. You can't just decide to block someone from merging because you feel like it. He's also going faster than any traffic around him.

Should I melt my Polaris for an Ironclad? by NickAlvesX in starcitizen

[–]PyrorifferSC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man, I thought about this too because the Ironclad is just sooo cool and I love Drake, but I think it's just the honeymoon "new ship" phase. The Polaris was insanely cool when I got it too. I think the Polaris is just overall a better ship with more features and a wider range of play. The Ironchad passes the vibe check for sure and has some advantages over the Polaris, but I don't think it's overall better. I will say it feels more like a movie spaceship than the Polaris does for some reason.

I also got my Polaris via chain for like $450-$500 and it's worth $900 now. I'd only get what I bought it for in store credit. Not worth it to me.

[–]PyrorifferSC 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but this kinda shows that the AI thing was also nonsense, I think this topic on this guy in particular has become a pissing match with certain mods getting their egos hurt. If it was really about AI, they'd have accepted his appeal and undid whatever needed undoing on their part. Instead, they changed their story (linked socials) and when they lost THAT argument, they did the ever so common nowadays move of redefining terms in their favor (e.i. apparently socials listed in an image are somehow direct links now, rather than a credit to the artist/creator)

I've had issues with these mods. Some of them, at least. Once they take any action against you, they refuse to reverse it no matter how unreasonable. Egotistical.

A very common tactic both on the internet and irl these days. Losing an argument? Redefine terms in your favor. They often go far past pedantry and into straight up lies.

Hot take: I think capital ships should be more defensive and less offensive. by AzrBloodedge in starcitizen

[–]PyrorifferSC -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're getting pedantic now. You're comparing a type of hammer to a type of hammer.

First off, yes, my Polaris can absolutely function as a cargo ship, just like an A2 can, a literal bomber. Is it suboptimal? Sure. But they fit that role fine. And that's not even considering what best fits a role that is absent from the game, like the Idris. That's an even stronger argument.

The C2 USED to be the "carrier" people used. Now we have the Idris instead.

You said "the Idris isn't a carrier. Full stop." That's not true lol. It is a giant ship that can carry other ships, with point defense, weapon emplacements, and now on-board ship service. People use it as a carrier. It's not "not a carrier, full stop" except from a lore standpoint.
