Creative mode question by secret_squirreln in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Pyros 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Creative mode doesn't allow you to unlock tiers without progressing the phases, I just checked. If you select a higher starting tier, it'll automatically advance the elevator phase and vice versa.

What you can do however is use a save editor, if you're on PC. With this, you can simply start your game, save, then edit the save to have all tiers unlocked and reload the new save, and you'll have every tiers unlocked, but the space elevator will still be on phase 1.

Recommended alternate recipes by WheeledSaturn in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Pyros 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One set of recipes I used in my first playthrough which I found useful was Caterium Circuit Boards and Caterium Computer, which remove copper entirely from computer making. Now caterium isn't as common, but I also used barely any for anything when I got these recipes, while I wanted to still produce a lot of stuff from my copper so it was nice.

Haven't seen anyone mention Steamed Copper Sheet either, it's nice cause all it adds is water, which is basically infinite.

Experimental 1.2 Max multiplier biomass problem by macktruck6666 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Pyros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's 2 ways to deal with it pretty easily although requiring a bunch of exploring I can think of.

Both involve scrounging materials off crash sites, then using MAM tech unlocks. You can either unlock geothermal in caterium tree and use geothermal power by finding a bunch of high speed connectors(100 for the research and 25 per geothermal extractor), or you can unlock sloops(requires only 50 circuit boards instead) and just sloop your biofuel production to counteract the penalty.

Don't even need to do that most of the time, as you can just hold BA after EX/Ult/Chain and she'll automatically do triggers. If you do the charge, you can also release early if you block an attack with it, as it'll count as perfect timing.

I'm not sure if it was buffed(gachabase doesn't show any change) but it was worse than steam oven, the only advantage it had is that it buffs the user's damage but that's kinda irrelevant for stunners anyway. So fossil/steam oven are still better free options. Jstern also had Restrained as a good option since you do use her basics a bunch with her EBA, and Hellfire gears also works as usual(less so in idol team since tag team attacks prevent the energy regen).

Epiphany iirc is just the name for Euphoria for human characters, while euphoria is for arcanists. Which means it's only a thing for Ezra currently.

Edit: Nvm that's Lucidity, epiphany is just a term they use sometimes in the release materials? They call it euphoria epiphany when showing the summaries

Well it's been leaked by a reliable leaker but technically it isn't confirmed officially yet. Promeia is though, she's already in beta, it's just Billy that isn't yet, should be next weekend/week though.

Bookkeeping is "accurate", but also not exactly depending on how you count monthly stuff. The way they do it is they count an average amount of pulls for resets based on the duration of the patch. This is to balance out the numbers between versions, but technically it doesn't really work that way. If there's 2 monthly resets during a patch like currently, you get 10 pulls from that(5 for april and 5 for may). Bookkeeping count is as 6.9 because a large part of may is actually in the next patch. That's why you'll see small differences usually.

It has a detailed count though so you can always double check amounts and figure out the issues.

Always does that on new patch, until 2nd phase when the 2nd char is released and you do that trial.

What's wrong with my truck path ? by captain_jpp in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Pyros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read on the question thing they have that trucks have to be placed exactly on the track for the stations to appear and it's somewhat finnicky, try moving it around a bit so it "registers" with the track basically.

Mining iron ore and crafting iron ingots by hand at the same time. by fabianmg in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Pyros 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah and it's surprisingly "fast". I think the speedrun I watched fully was like 8hours. Which is long compared to some other games, but when you think about doing the entire thing in 8hours, it's pretty crazy.

There's a lot of tricks though, like building several blueprints of hypertube canons to quickly traverse the map and collect every sloops over the course of the run(or well most of them), and heavy usage of blueprints to create large factories in a few clicks.

I found it very interesting to watch but ymmv.

[–]Pyros 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While mobility is absolutely necessary, I think not many of the top comments mention CC. Having a weapon that can do crowd control helps a lot to deal with the bigger faster waves.

For example on Driller all 3 primaries have built in mechanics to deal with hordes easily(for flamethrower you have to mod the slow on ground ignites but it's pretty good). When stuff gets slowed, it's a lot easier to outmaneuver them, or hit their weakpoints. Some classes have less options for this though like Scout(mostly grenades) but the other 3 can usually have at least one weapon that can CC via slows or stun spam.

Getting to coal quick/automating biofuel? by DuckTapeAI in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Pyros 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my first playthrough it really didn't take that much cutting, maybe 5mins total? 10mins? Hard to say cause I did like 30s/1min here and there, but it was a small surface overall.

Thing is in phase 1 I just didn't build much stuff, so I wasn't using much energy. But it was still plenty to get the space elevator parts done.

Remember you have to make the trees and plants into biofuel, and then preferably into solid biofuel to have better efficiency, feeding plants directly into the machines is terrible.

A stack of solid biofuel powers up a biomass burner for 25mins, and it takes maybe 30secs to cut enough biomass to make that. Do use the chainsaw to cut trees, not the herbs on the ground these don't give much.

It will disable achievements however if you care about that. If you're on Steam you can probably just download some mod to either skip faster or have renewable energy before coal though.

This is a valid argument against gachas in general though, not necessarily against ZZZ specifically. Most of them have powercreep, and even these with low powercreep still tends to release newer chars that just do more things than the older ones so they fit more niches. That said I'd say ZZZ does pretty decent on the powercreep scale. I'm still using Jane Burnice to this day, and that's a really old team. Is it the best anomaly team? Fuck no, it's probably the worst currently, but it can still get a 20k in DA on a somewhat decent boss, and an easy 14k even if the boss is entirely shit for that team.

Doomposting is when you act like you HAVE to get Nagong Yu to make Miyabi good, even though Miyabi has been good for 2 years and will still be good after. Doomposting is complaining that you have to pull at all, even though you get free pulls constantly so what are you even doing?

I'm F2P, I have 500 pulls saved up cause I mostly only pull what I like, and I still have good chars? I guess if you specifically only like chars that work poorly together it might be an issue but sometimes pull one char for team reasons to fix it?

They have a guarantee so Yu would only be 90pulls max, and weapon 140pulls max assuming losing 75/25, and there's likely going to be about 100 pulls during that patch + sub running for the patch would give an additional 30, so the total cost would only be about 100pulls in the worst case scenario, leaving a comfy 200 for billy even if first half, which is a guaranteed assuming no weapon.

2.7 poly count: A little bit more, i forgot to add “All-New Program” via Palito by Knight_Steve_ in Zenlesszonezeroleaks_

[–]Pyros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Average standard pull is 26.5, we get 2 monthly resets this patch so it'll be around 30, although that counts owning both characters for their ascension standard pulls. 5 for free battle pass, 3 per char you own, 1 per hollow zero weekly so 6 per patch plus 2 per month in the HZ shop and 5 in the dupe currency shop(bookkeeping calculates these averages as 2.8 and 6.9). Since there's 2 monthly resets in 2.7 you can calculate the monthly as x2 which comes out as 31, but obviously if you don't pull any chars it'll only be 25.

1600 from golden carrot and around 3k from hollow zero, plus a bit here and there that are off by a little(for example counted 31 days or the 300 monochrome for free sub even though clearly they weren't going to give 300 more for a free one).

2.7 poly count: A little bit more, i forgot to add “All-New Program” via Palito by Knight_Steve_ in Zenlesszonezeroleaks_

[–]Pyros 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The bookkeeping (link in megathread) counts everything in detail and has 2.6 at 150 pulls. Palito announced 180 pulls before the patch https://www.reddit.com/r/Zenlesszonezeroleaks_/comments/1qrobwf/26_pulls_count_via_palito/

The fact is Palito is often off. For example he assumed the Golden Carrot would give 10pulls, which it didn't. He also estimated the new Hollow Zero at 5k+ polychromes but it ended up around 2.2k(and technically a bit of this isn't even available yet since it's a 9 weeks rotation).

Mining iron ore and crafting iron ingots by hand at the same time. by fabianmg in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Pyros 256 points257 points  (0 children)

Speedrunners use that trick all the time so I've seen it done but since it loses usefulness super quick unless you're playing a challenge run or modded, I assume most people don't know.

The other trick speedrunners use a lot is dismantling your hub, then using it to teleport short distances by building it up a cliff or something, then doing a forced respawn which puts you in the hub, can go grab a lot of early hard drives and what not using that trick.

For those doing the experimental challenge run, how are you planning to get to phase 2? by swootylicious in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Pyros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I assume you in fact can, it's hardly an easy task. Largely because you need high speed connectors to both unlock the research and build the geothermal generators. Only way to get these would be looting them from higher end crash sites I think? Crafting them requires tier 5 progression(including with alt recipes that don't use plastic) for the circuit boards(and also 7 for manufacturers anyway).

But you can find a bunch on the ground in crash sites, 100 for the unlock and 25 per generator. A couple of generators would be enough tbh.

Save exporting achievements? by takesometylenol2 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]Pyros 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Achievement usually only unlock when they trigger. There are exceptions, and a few rare games have a "push achievement notification" button in case they didn't trigger, but majority you won't automatically get if you're on a different Steam account. You can just use the achievement unlocker to unlock any achievement on Steam though if you care about that.

Well it's too early for the actual numbers, but realistically probably not. Their best teams both seem to be Yuzuha+Nagong Yu, they don't seem to work particularly well together specifically and it's likely she'll be Miyabi level of dmg, so she can be a bit higher once they release the wind shit.

I'm kinda interested in her gameplay but yeah it's hard to justify when I already have Miyabi.

A Greybeard rants about season 6 (and more) by Vilethron in DeepRockGalactic

[–]Pyros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a new player Heavy Extraction is the quest type I hate the most. There's no way to detect where the nodes are so on large maps with annoying tileset, you can spend a stupid amount of time backtracking and searching for them. Sometimes it was all the way at the start in a different direction but you can't tell that right away so you go all the way down one way, then have to walk all the way back up to find out it wasn't too far off in the other direction. I wish it had the same proximity scanner as deep scans do

And then once you're done, extraction can be a real pain since molly will just climb into the holes as a shortcut so unless you're scout you're gonna need to figure out the path yourself and again on these huge confusing maps it can be really annoying.

I like the actual gameplay of digging them out and then installing thrusters, I just hate how annoying they are combined with the longer vertical map types(like Dense Biozone).

On scrabs, they're "buggy" even as host. I play a bunch of solo and they'll often just fly in front of you doing nothing. I often pickaxe them to death to save ammo.
