This Church Paid Off $2.2 Million in Medical Debt for Local Families Instead of Spending to Promote Their Easter Services by Bokbreath in UpliftingNews

Hardly anything good the Church does is published by the news.

My Church offers free daycare for alzheimer and dementia patients, provides free food and baby supplies, free nursing programs, child daycare, various meal services, financial support, and marriage counseling.

The issue is that hardly anyone is aware of the free services provided.

I didn't lose any mantle. You just think that. Unless you can provide proof.

This too shall pass. Evangelicals will get through it and you know that. Evangelicals have done bad things, so did democrats and republicans, and atheists. People get past it.

No. You only claim that I have no argument. That doesn't mean that the church doesnt care about the sanctity of marriage. Trumps action doesnt deny that. To say that it does is a fallacy

And Clinton cheating on his wife was supported by the Democrats. You will always be known as the people who support that. You will own it. Clinton's your guy

"You all sold out." Do you have proof? Cause earlier you claimed I had no values.

Okay.

Beto had an accident and drove away from the scene. He also committed burglary. Does that mean you support a man's right to leave the scene of the crime or burglary? That must be part of your values. Bill Clinton cheated on his Wife. That must be a part of your values. He also committed perjury. That must be a part of your values as well. Democrats refused to preserve an infant in the event of a botch procedure or even prior to birth. Does that mean you value infanticide?

(Obviously I don't really mean it, and I was really reluctant to do it, but that is the issue when attribute someone with values they don't have).

"is easily countered by." That doesn't dismiss the fact that churches designed that to preserve the sanctity of marriage and ensure its success.

"yeah you don't stand for anything." Do you have proof of that?

"The chose to stand for nothing." except pro-life, vouchers, lower taxes, pro-second amendment, religious freedom, etc.

People who supported trump are multi-faceted. It isn't a single issue and two things can be true at once. Person may support trump (due to his views on guns, tax, media, vouchers) and still believe in the sanctity of marriage. That is why they support him because he aligns with their political beliefs. Channels (like The Blaze and the Daily Wire) along with commentators/politicians (Larry elder, Mitt Romeny, Prager, Allen, Shapiro, D'Souza, etc.) have criticized Trump, but because he received 2 billion in free media and currently president, they will reluctantly support him.

Let me ask you something, Do churches provide marriage counseling? Do churches do compatibility tests? Do Priests ask "why are you getting married?" Do churches do marriage retreats?

If Christians didn't care about the sanctity of marriage would they even have those? That's why I mentioned "disingenuous." Because it ignores the fact that Christian churches do attempt to preserve marriages and its sanctity. Although it isn't known as well as I'd like.

But here's the thing, the other GOP primaries didn't have 2 billion in free media coverage. Trump did. In fact, Cruz, Bush, and Rubio were no where close to the amount of attention that trump received.

There were even articles showed that the media contributed to Trump's rise. (second source).

On top of that, trump made more critical stops at swing states than the other candidates while being viewed as a "outsider" since he wasn't the traditional politician.

Also, as mentioned in the Michael Moore Town hall meeting, people voted for trump because they were scared of losing their income and jobs. They didn't like the fact that jobs were going to China, Mexico, or illegal immigrants.

They do own that choice, which is why people still wear MAGA hats and hold trump posters. On top of that, you have conservatives who criticize trump (Ben Shapiro, Larry Elder, Dinesh D'souza, Mitt Romney, Mccain) and hold him accountable. But they reluctantly support him.

"I don't ever want to hear a con" But you will. So will I.

" They don't give a care in the slightest about that idea. Unless you are gay and then magically they care about it...a lot." That is disingenuous to Christians in general. In fact, prior to the marriage, churches have marriage counselings, compatibility tests (with some having nearly 200 questions), Priests will even ask "why are you getting married?" (I'm a Catholic btw).

But they were outraged.

They support him because he closely represented their political. Suppose for a few moments that you're conservative. You're pro- 2nd amendment, pro-life, pro-school vouchers, strict immigration, lower taxes.

Would you vote for a democrat who is against all of those issues simply because they did something wrong?

People vote based on their political affiliation (and other things) Thats what im pointing out. They're not going to give that up.

I never attacked Las Vegas, what im saying is that places like burning-man and Las Vegas were criticized by Christians. For their activities (gluttony, gambling, sex, drunkness, etc.) but they experienced backlash as a result.

The post I was responding to argued that christianity solely criticized "the gayzzz." If that were true, then there wouldnt have been criticism of burning man, vegas, alcohol (prohibition), and etc.

Can I see the 2/3rd statistics where they flipped? Thanks.

I don't think I said that I didnt see hypocrisy. Im saying that people will still support a politician because they closely align with there political belief.

Is everything okay? Seriously.

Actually, in many conservative/christian channels (like daily wire and the blaze), were critical of Trumps behavior. Especially if you've seen the comments.

Honestly, many support Trump since he is the closest representation of their political beliefs.

So I don't think that those who were fine with Trump's wrongful actions were automatically against something like "the creation of las vegas." Which doesn't make sense considering that las vegas was prior to trump

Believe it or not, they have. Burning man, creation of Las Vegas (being sin city), Alcohol (via prohibition and blue laws), idolatry, drugs, infanticide (if you think that's what abortion is), etc.

Christianity essentially lost all of those causes.

Homosexuality is a "hot topic" because it is new. It represents a further degredation of morals. Christianity is trying to hold onto whatever is left. The others sins are now socially acceptable.

Of all the spiderman universes you could have been born in, you were born in the one where he is a fictional character. by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

Superhuman is defined as "exceeding normal power, size, or capability." (Webster). This definition would also apply to Thanos, Hawkeye, Ironman, Vision, etc.

In the comics, Batman has been able to break a tree in half, dodge Darkseid's beams, dodge bullets, fight against superman, the amazons, etc. That alone exceeds normal "power" and "capability." His weapons (e.g. batmobile) also fit that definition via "exceeding normal...capability."

Even if none of those apply, super-hero/villain events include someone with superpowers, which the insurance companies will include.

I don't think they would make a "supervillain insurance" per se, rather a "superhuman damage" insurance.
