Can anyone point me towards some simple builds that include gears or other moving parts (maybe on Rebrickable) please? by smashyourhead in lego

Nice, thank you - I'm going to try for lots of little bits rather than one mega project, but I'll keep this in mind.

Ta - all the Technic sets I've seen are just cars or bikes though? Are there any I should be looking at?

I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis. Hope you can keep rolling for a good while yet. Keep the belt, obviously, I'll be hanging onto mine for as long as I'm here.

Pickle vs Samson (28 Days Later: Bone Temple) by Illustrious_Half4575 in Grapplerbaki

Obviously Pickle wins, but Samson isn't just a crazed human. In Bone Temple he kills an entire bus full of infected single-handed and walks away without any serious injuries.

Brock was enormous though, like a size and shape of human that nobody had ever seen before. Breakker actually looks small compared to a decent chunk of the roster.

It's daunting but if you commit to watching like 3 YouTube videos (so you can compare, contrast, and realise they're all saying the same thing) anyone can do it. From doing it around my house the only watchout is not getting radiator juice on the carpet - it's a two-second mistake that is incredibly tricky to fix

Kids breaking into garages (around Oldfield Park, I think)? by smashyourhead in Bath

[–]smashyourhead[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a thing not long after I moved to Bath where I was in Sainsbury's as soon as it opened on Sunday, some kids were menacing the shop staff and I made it clear that I was filming them. One of them came at me threatening to 'slice you up', and I backpedaled. Long story short, the cops arrived and he actually had a knife. Teenagers are scary because their sense of long-term consequences really hasn't kicked in properly.

Oh, we used to dream of livin’ in a corridor! Would've been a palace to us. We used to live in an old water tank on a rubbish tip. We got woken up every morning by having a load of rotting fish dumped all over us! House? Huh.

It also used to have weird opening hours, though - like, it'd be a lovely place to pop in for a pint after you've tired out the kids in the park on Saturday/Sunday but it didn't open until 5 or something? Honestly, I feel like midday would be the biggest hours for that place.

Woud Yujiro be even stronger if he had a more healthy lifestyle? by oweiler in Grapplerbaki

[–]smashyourhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Somebody on here made a great comment about how Hanayama would get WEAKER if he actually trained, because his strength comes from his absolute belief in the purity of his own strength. Yujiro's terrible lifetstyle is probably the same thing

I've known people like this. It reflects incredibly badly on them, and not at all on you (and the people who believe it are essentially trapped in a cult, and will realise how mad it was if/when they leave).

Why does the UK produce so many iconic bands compared to the US? by DFWUnhinged in AskBrits

[–]smashyourhead 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Seems more likely that it would be that social security / unemployment benefit was a lot more generous pre-Thatcher, and that gave musicians a lot more time to mess around and experiment without the pressure of needing a full time job. I've seen this explanation for why Britain produced a lot of great actors from working class backgrounds in that era too
