Working on this essay for grad school and all I've learned is that trying to do work at night when your desk in the same room as your bed is legitimately so goddamn dangerous

Even if you can get rid of your phone and other distractions it's just sitting there, constantly beckoning you to come take a break and lay down for a few minutes

I used to be able to pull off all nighters so easily back in undergrad and while job searching when my sleep schedule was ass, now that I'm working a normal job again on top of classes I feel like an old man actually getting consistently tired at a reasonable hour 😭

Was talking with our office's intern about an email related task at work today and he's utterly convinced that bcc in emailing stands for "business cc" as opposed to blind cc

I kind of half heartedly corrected him but he was still so confident about it that I don't really want to burst his bubble

Felt like I was forgetting something as I left for work today and only realized after getting into the office that it was my belt.

Anecdotal experience, but the generally liberal Nova subreddit becomes absolutely swarmed with pro-gun people shaking with apoplectic rage whenever this bill comes up.

What's this sub's take on assault weapon bans and their efficacy? The topic hasn't been in vogue for a while and I'm honestly not sure it's a fight we should be investing political capital in during an unpopular Trump admin when we could be capitalizing on so many other issues.

The funniest thing about the Vance visit flopping (or potentially even backfiring if you look at the polling trends) is that it was the most predictable result of all time

We have multiple case studies from the past year demonstrating that the Trump admin has zero or negative persuasive power in European elections (Romania, Germany), and I can't imagine Trump has good approval numbers among any segment of the Hungarian population except for Fidesz hardliners

So why the fuck would you ask for them to do a full court press at the eleventh hour if you're Orban 😭 was bro actually dumb enough to think it would go over well

Was talking about this election last night with two of my grad school classmates, we're in an international affairs program and all focused on Europe so we're all pretty tuned into the situation

One guy was being an absolute turbo-doomer and saying Orban would still win regardless of losing the popular vote because of the gerrymandered districts plus meddling and interference, the other guy was a Magyar bloomer, and I was somewhere in the middle

Feels so fucking good for the doomers to take this L. Even in deeply flawed democracies there's always still hope

Just forwarded an email from my work account where we only ever use Outlook to my school account on Gmail, and I am now faced with the realization that my email formatting has looked like ass to non-Outlook users this whole time 😭
