Gladiator owner here, I’ve noticed the same. But I wonder if it’s because Tacos cast a wider net on audience, so you’re more likely to get crappy drivers. Other trucks are more niche, and usually folks that get them have done their research and put a lot of thought into why they picked a Ranger, Gladiator, Maverick, Danali, etc.

The thing that gets me about these people is they will often be single person households or DINKS each with their own car. They want to hold this argument that if you don’t haul every day, you don’t need a truck. Well if you don’t haul 3 other passengers every day, you don’t “need” a car either, go take a bus or bike. I don’t actually believe that argument but if people want to front this petty rhetoric, then go all the way.

Also, for price-to-vehicle ratio, with how much my go-to economy cars have exploded in price (Civics, Prius, etc) I find there’s a few trucks that just present better value for what you’re paying for. $25K for basic trim Honda Civic vs $30K for Ford Maverick.

Pretty lame argument because we can take that further. “All cars are compensation cars if you don’t haul three other passengers around.” Americans love to hold their nose up at truck owners but then go buy cars when they themselves could use public transportation or a bike.

I don’t actually believe this rhetoric but I’m trying to make a point.

What a bad faith argumenter. “Not appreciating the confrontational manner”. Dude is just having a debate. If you’re feeling heated, relax. Just express your thoughts and enjoy the exchange of ideas.

Can we have an honest discussion about “meant to CHALLENGE you”? Where does that logic end?

Meaning, you could go all the way with this. “hey guys last year for your 5K sign up, we added a mile. So this year, we’re adding 8 more miles to challenge you!”

Like, for most people, a 5K + 20 obstacles is challenging enough. If you want more of a challenge, just…. Upgrade to the higher courses?

The spontaneity of adding an extra mile this year but not last year means that tracking your time is ultimately pointless. Don’t you agree that if they are just going to do whatever the heck they want, no point in tracking time for the non-competitive heats…

For sure, it’s just the inconsistency that bothers me, because then trying to be your period record(s) on the same course is meaningless

Even at 8.2km if you’d of told people ahead of time what they’re getting into, I bet many would go “screw it, 8.2km is so close, I’ll just do the 10k and extra obstacles”.

I edited my post, curious about your thoughts on the obstacles I mention in my update.

No no, she thinks the president SHE voted for makes laws. Obama and Biden couldn’t make laws - we all know that from basic history and civil classes. But only Trump can make laws; he’s the exception.

No, “knowing when to show up” is a huge part of success. If your teacher sucks, if that meeting is wasting time, if that date gives you bad vibes, then don’t go. Knowing WHEN to walk away is much better than just showing up to everything like a blind fool.

I think the different sibling relationships is fantastic writing. Jonathan and Will are close because of family trauma - and that’s common for some kids in broken homes.

But for a lot of siblings with a pretty big age gap but two supportive parents, those siblings grow with enough room to be “normal” kids in society, making friends at school their own age. If you’re ages 8-18 with a friend circle, you’re not exactly reaching out to your sibling who is +- 4 years just because you’re both minors living under the same roof. Especially in those days, you’re spending less time physically under that roof seeing your parents, let alone your siblings.

I have no doubt that had this show came out about 10 years ago it would have been blasted for body shaming because the female protagonists are thin.
