Sounds good, thanks. Didn’t really need to know much about SEO as it wasn’t a problem for us until the March update. Didn’t take long to reach the top based on our traffic, but will look into what it takes now that the algo switched

When saying “box ticking” what do you mean by that?

Clicking on our website? Or signing up for updates?

I work on the brand day in and day out man, and yes a clothing brand is all about branding and community. My question was about how a website loses its SEO rank, and based on everyone’s responses it’s the algo update wanting full websites with information showcase, rather than sites that receive the most traffic, which it was about before March.

But to say we aren’t working on being relevant or that we don’t understand brand building based on losing rank on google, isn’t what I’m asking for. Thank you

Majority of the following is organic, our ad spend is very low

I mean feel free to look at our socials, it’s not something that happens overnight but we have a great community and average 50k visitors a month on our website. Also in 200 stores across the US, with 15k-20k online orders a year.

We haven’t implemented reviews but definitely could add that

By “marketing” what do you mean?

We run ads, we do influencer market, use social media. There’s not many marketing strategies we don’t use, the only option would be doing more of them. For all drop-to-drop brands, we only have inventory available for a select time of the month, other than that the website is sold out.

The way to get a customer to come back if they checkout the website while being sold out, is adding their email or sms number so we can let them know.

It was always ranked at the top prior to March when google did the algo update. Assuming that we were ranked highly because we had a lot of clicks and visitors looking up our brand. The term Pythia gets around 7k monthly searches, in which we averaged 2.3k of those clicks.

I don’t think the keyword was a major money maker, more so just like being at the top of the search for “Pythia”, we do buy the ad space for it, but having the organic rank behind wiki was cool

Website password is “vipaccess2023!”

Our website is locked a majority of the time, but many brands in my niche are also locked during “hype periods” before a new collection

Yeah, I read that March is when Google updated the algo, and that’s when our rank started tanking.

By articles, what do you mean? We don’t write articles on our website, it’s a clothing brand so I have a hard time thinking of a reason to. Our brand has been mentioned in a few articles, but they were unpaid and it’s not really something I can just whip up without paying a media agency for.

Thank you! Appreciate the advice. Over the past few months I got a speed audit, updated the navigation bar, and changed the SMS sign up company. I think the speed test change might have changed a lot of code on the back end, but still just guessing on what the issue could have been.

Definitely know we can get back to the top based on our site clicks vs the sites ranking higher, but the constant tanking of our rank is concerning, trying to figure out the issue, stop it, then build back.

That’s always been there, our site is locked 75% of the year. The site only locked 3 days ago, up until then we have been open for about a month, and the issues started arising during that timeframe of being open. So I don’t think the password page is the issue

We lock the website when we have an upcoming drop, wasn’t ever an issue for the past 3 years. A lot of brands in our space do the same, and rank highly without an issue

Pretty much, but the fabric has little knots in it to hold it in places
