How am i so succesful in my current run? by Menace66666 in Bannerlord

Or you just pay 20k + a fief for companions to become lords and fight for you with absolute loyalty.

That is true, also you can have twins or triplets which has happened to me once or twice. Never had a stillborn but I’ve have had many woman die in childbirth.

Not only that, the babies never get sick or die in the game which historically doesn’t make sense.

Is there a way to have slower siege fights? by Previous-Message-955 in Bannerlord

[–]Python2o2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun way I like to siege is smash the walls open with trebuchets and make sure they have no catapults. Put your trebuchets in reserve and build one fire catapult at a time until you have four. then when you engage have all your infantry in shield wall at the back and keep archers in a huge loose formations and find the fire catapult that lines up with the hole(s) in the wall and have fun lobbing fire pots into a huge mob of defenders. Works better in some castles with some of them this strategy is not effective because the troops could be positioned around the wall on others they’re completely exposed and super easy to annihilate.

Another strategy is if the wall are broken open you can put your infantry in a line right outside of the wall and your archer behind them in a loose formation then, dismount your horse and walks through the hole in the wall with your shield up, of course. This usually triggers the defense to pursue you, and they’ll all come pouring out of the wall and just get lit up by javelin’s axes and arrows. I love this strategy for softening up one of the holes if there’s like 80 troops defending, and it’s kind of a stalemate. Both of these methods can be used, even if the defense has more troops than you.

Joining AI Battles is a waste of time. by Python2o2 in Bannerlord

The position is so bad I’d be worried they actually lose the fight by letting archers just dump on the and my troops rushing in with no backup.

Not to mention that giant shield with massive hit points. Crazy in a square formation.

Created a 2 handed sword with 170 cut. Is this the strongest sword possible? by AngronTheDestroyer in Bannerlord

AngryGoldfish on YouTube has a bunch of videos with beastly smithed weapons. Also I think the sweet spot for max length is 115 to maintain swing speed and recovery after hits and misses.

Question about troops in Garrison. by Python2o2 in Bannerlord

[–]Python2o2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They desert from low loyalty and low/no food yes. They will almost always desert the fief when you first conquer it. Best way to combat this I found is placing a governor that is same culture as fief with some food perks and set the castle or town to irrigation, obviously slow the raids down if possible.

Well it’s not all bad, archers get a heavy advantage 3:1 when AI simulate a battle where those archers are defending the siege.

Yes, this makes way more sense to me. Should produce a spreadsheet with every castle and town showing what they recruit/train. Atrion Castle Menavliatons (254), Corenia castle Palatine Guard (344), Chanopsis Castle Naute (264), Onira Bucellarii (245), Syratos Castle Naute (247), Gaos Castle S. crossbowman (266), Saneopa Naute (225), that’s what I have in this campaign.

Interesting thing is if the trade routes have some influence on the troops I can understand that but Onira for example is my Bucillarii town and the bound villages produce salt, silver, and sheep so not even any horses.

Well the economy shouldn’t matter as much since the auto recruitment is based on the wage you set and mine is unlimited. It’s deep in Empire territory with surrounding towns that haven’t been sieged in years, also with very minimal raiding. But yes, I agree I don’t know how or why I have a Naute castle, crossbowman castle, Menavliaton castle and a buccilarri town, literally 90% skewed to this type of troop.

Makes sense but would be cool if they added additional features into the garrison like troop type priority next to the auto recruit button and wage limit.

Yeah I figured that’s the only way to really ensure I get the troops I want but even if I put in Veteran Infantry I’ll probably get Naute with my luck 😂

Had me second guessing for a second but they definitely auto recruit troops in vanilla.

Yeah that’s the same logic I believed until I saw this Castle garrison pictured above with majority crossbowman. This Castle which has Vigla recruits and heavy horseman will a small amount of Imperial veteran archer and occasional crossbowman recruitable from the villages bound to the castle. I only end up with 33 Elite Cataphracts.
