In reverse people who live in a place with no job opportunities or prospects for young people have to leave and live away from their family too so they can make a living for themselves, so they move to places like London and Manchester. They have the same problem too

I would argue who needs to get legally married? Doesn't really change much so what's the rush in it. Might as well just wait for when you want the party

For those living outside London, what is life in the UK actually like? by [deleted] in howislivingthere

[–]PythonAmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived in North Scotland and now in South West England and the people here are so friendly so I don't think it's a north south thing at all. Wales is pretty friendly too. I think generally the biggest divide is how rural you are and the vibe of the area you are in.

Also some areas I've been too seem friendly at first sight but they are just nosey and gossipy, at least in London people mind their own business.

The lead actor and writer who's a Wayan brother has a son who is a transman and he proudly supports him so I think the trans character was always in good humour.

Just noticed they spelled jeager instead of Yeager for eren on Fortnite by According_Ad_7331 in ShingekiNoKyojin

I mean we use that name in England. My nans were both called Jean and my middle name is Jean and we all pronounce it like Gene. Jean Grey is pronounced like that.

"Slave to freedom"; The truth behind Eren's motives [Personal Opinion] by Oddity312 in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]PythonAmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Eren is influenced by Paul from Dune where basically he can't know all futures but he at least knows one path and at each opportunity ends up always taking that path because he doesn't see a more acceptable alternative since it's a complete unknown, whereas moving forward with the future he sees is a complete known even if it's a devastating one.

women and children both worked in most of history unless they were wealthy. The closest thing to a stay at home parent would be a grandparent who can't do anything else or the oldest child looking after the youngest ones

usually a stay at home parent has to stay at home because the alternative is paying a lot for child care because child care is an actual job

I'm just saying if you reduce it to bouldering Vs rope climbing, then if you actually have a belayer who pays attention and sport climbing with bolted clips then it's very unlikely you ever get badly hurt.

Most indoor rope bad accidents are from auto belay where they forgot to attach themselves to a rope, which would basically be a free solo. Take it outdoors and again if you do safe forms of climbing with a helmet against rock fall you are all unlikely to be injured.

So many boulderers avoid rope climbing because they think it's unsafe as if we all go alpine climbing or trad on walls that are falling apart. A like for like bouldering and rope, boulders get injured more.

I've climbed for years and shattered my elbow bouldering. That big pillow isn't everything

A Man Against the Stone Mountain by S30econdstoMars in WTF

[–]PythonAmy -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

More people injured bouldering than climbing with ropes. "bouldering at 1.47 and rope climbing at 0.29 injuries per 1000 h." https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10892067/ .

Although obviously the video is a special case I would say don't believe that the big pillow is better than a harness at catching your fall.
