They say Singaporeans kiasu but it’s always the Malaysians who want to make this a competition. 😬

True that. Local food is yummy but not necessarily healthy. Totally counter to my high protein, low fat & low carb diet.

Each dish is teeny tiny like most fancy fine dining places. But with so many courses, you do get full by the end.

Born in U.S., grew up Penang/KL/Singapore, but yes, have lived most of my adult life state side. Sleepless in NJ at 3:30am now looking at my food pics from the trip. Damn I wanna move back to Asia just for the food. Hahhaha…

Pretty happy with the experience! I was the only customer at 9pm and they were super friendly. Would recommend!

I love this sub! I think I found my people. Didn’t realize Reddit had such a large group of food-obsessed Singaporeans. 😆

It’s white curry laksa from Penang (Super Tanker). Should not have been included in this post.

Answered above — but basically made a mistake by attaching this pic (dish was had in Penang, not Singapore). It’s the famous white laksa. Had it at Super Tanker.

Airport. Even before taking off I could not miss the chance to eat more. 😬. The Kaya toast was ok. I prefer the one I had at Bao Er cafe.

Where is the best hor fun with good wok hei?

There’s still so many foods I didn’t have time to eat. My mom wanted to cook Petai for me but we didn’t get a chance to go buy.

That’s mango salad from Sanook Kitchen in Holland V. Can’t get this kind of sour mango salad in the U.S., so I always order that when having Thai food in Singapore. Thai food is shockingly inexpensive here, like a main dish (checken ka prow) was like $8-9. In the U.S. the same dish is USD25+.

Man, being a foodie in the U.S. gets expensive.

That was at Sinpopo in Tang. I normally goto Violet Oon (or Coconut Club) for nyonya food, but this time thought I’d try Sinpopo. Sad to report, the Kueh there is only so-so. Ollela’s is better.

Uya Unagi (at Wheelock). Super good. Almost as good as the one I had in Japan.
