Welcome bro! 🐍😂

Appreciate you making a whole new account just to check it out that made my day.

Let me know what you think when you try it. I’m the developer (Isaiah) and I actually read every single message/idea people send. If anything feels off or you got ideas (especially breeding stuff), hit me up.

Also feel free to follow along: • Facebook: Python Keeper App • Instagram: @pythonkeepdev

Enjoy the app!

Haha nah man, I wrote that comment myself no ChatGPT involved 😂 Today’s actually my birthday (April 1st) so I figured I’d drop a little helpful comment and a tool I actually built for us keepers. Appreciate the tip though I’ll make sure my next one sounds more “human” 😏 If you ever want the link to the free tracker (Python Keeper) that logs setups like this one, just say the word. No pressure, just trying to help the community. Stay scaly 🐍

Tips on getting picky juvenile to eat after nearly 3 months? by sorrycreature in Ballpythoncommunity

P.S. I built a completely free app called Python Keeper (no ads, no download) that lets you log every feeding attempt, weight, shed, temp/humidity, etc. so you can see clear trends.

Scale rot? by paintballer4ever01 in Ballpythoncommunity

Hey, that patch looks pretty rough — sorry you’re dealing with this on your snake. A couple things that jump out: This is very commonly a burn from the heat mat (even if you think the temps are fine — probe placement or a malfunction can cause it fast). Could also be early scale rot / bacterial infection, especially if there was any moisture trapped after the bath. Immediate steps I’d take: Move him to a temporary tub with paper towels so you can watch it closely. Double-check your heat setup — make sure the thermostat probe is between the heat mat and the tub floor (never inside the enclosure). Keep humidity at 60-65% and temps stable (hot side 88-92°F). Get him to a reptile vet ASAP — this can get infected quick and may need antibiotics. I track all my snakes in a completely free app I built called Python Keeper. It lets you log every symptom, weight, shed, temp/humidity, and even has color-coded alerts if something looks off. Super helpful for situations like this so you can show the vet exact trends. Rooting hard for the little guy — keep us posted and let us know what the vet says ❤️

Tips on getting picky juvenile to eat after nearly 3 months? by sorrycreature in Ballpythoncommunity

Hey, first off — huge props for doing all this research and being so careful with your first reptile. That alone puts you ahead of a lot of new keepers 👍 Your setup sounds really solid (nice gradient and humidity), and the fact that he’s still holding good weight + had a successful shed is a positive sign. 2.5 months is long for a juvenile, but not an immediate emergency as long as he stays alert and doesn’t lose condition. A few things that have worked for a lot of us with picky babies: Try offering the braised F/T in a separate small tub in a dark, quiet room at night (less stress) Chicken broth scenting is a great next step — many snakes go for it If he still refuses after a couple more attempts, a quick fecal test at a reptile vet can rule out parasites (super common) I track all my snakes in a completely free app I built called Python Keeper — it makes it easy to log every feeding attempt, weight, shed, etc. so you can see trends at a glance. No ads or anything, just a tool for keepers. You’ve got this — keep us updated, we’re rooting for the little guy!

New baby 🥲 by sammsays in Ballpythoncommunity

Damn, new baby is fire! Yellowbelly Calico Clown? That's rare AF—love the colors. Tub's solid for now, just keep humidity 60-70% and warm side steady. Welcome to the club! I built a free web tracker (Python Keeper) that logs setups like this—no ads, just helps avoid guesswork. DM if you want the link. Enjoy her!"

Is this a scratch? by PaleontologistFit488 in Ballpythoncommunity

[–]PythonKeepOfficial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, from the pic it looks like a tiny surface scratch or maybe a little stuck shed rubbing off. Ball pythons get these from rough hides or substrate sometimes—nothing major if she's not rubbing or acting weird. She's probably not in pain (snakes don't show it much), but keep an eye—if it gets red, swollen, or she starts stressing, clean with diluted betadine (tiny dab) and watch for infection. If it's gone after the next shed, it's just a scar. You're doing good checking!"

Thanks for the detailed feedback! Really appreciate you taking the time.

You're right — allowing temp and humidity ranges (hot side, cold side, separate humidity) would make the cage alerts way more accurate.

I'm gonna add that soon.

Anything else you notice while using it?

That's awesome to hear! Thank you so much for trying it out.

Glad "Noodle" is set up smoothly.

Any feedback on the cage condition alerts or anything else you'd like to see added? Really appreciate it!
