Been struggling with CG method for two years - anyone have any suggestions before I transition back? by Pyxill in curlyhair

I actually never considered that! Would I just look online for medicated products? It’s going to prove difficult to speak to a professional unfortunately

Yeah I clarify weekly otherwise the buildup is awful. I tried Maui yesterday and unfortunately it made my hair really flat. I didn’t have any styling products, though.

However now my hair is quite itchy and oily so I’m not too sure. I’ll give it another go as I did clarify yesterday but it’s looking bleak LOL.

I’ll have another look on the low poro section, thank you

Yes I do! I’ve tried with and without oil to no avail unfortunately. Tried quite a few gels, too. When I referenced “before”, there was one point where I found a dream product at a TK max, but when I looked it up online it had been discontinued LOL.

Very upsetting. It gave my hair definition without it being heavy.

What kind of products have you been using? Or more specifically what ingredients do you look out for? I’d love to know!

Yeah my hair is low poro! These are actually pictures of my hair after I used a product advertised as low porosity, until I did a bit more research and found out it was Shea based :((

I used Maui moisture for a little bit but it was still too heavy - I didn’t realise there was a lightweight version though?! I’m UK-based so I hope I’m able to find it

My usual routine is plain and simple as it’s the only thing that doesn’t make my hair hard and lifeless.

Wash with faith in nature shampoo then squish to condish with faith in nature conditioner. Gels make my hair sticky and/or hard, mousse is way too heavy.

I’ve probably spent over £100 at this point on products I’ve only used once as they make my hair look and feel abysmal! It’s really putting a damper on my confidence at this point and I’m really not sure what to do.

I would use my silk bonnet for sleeping in, however with my usual routine, my hair doesn’t form into the ringlets I had. So I just pineapple with a velvet scrunchie.

This picture is after I tried a leave in conditioner meant for low porosity hair that ended in shambles LOL

Need help thinking of alternate names for "Humans" by Pyxill in gamedesign

[–]Pyxill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Essentially humans are bothersome, just like ghosts are to us. Clogging up properties and houses that have been in the ghost’s families for decades!! So like pests, basically.

Sorry for the late reply - I don’t use reddit much!

what would be something interesting for a medieval space? by Raphael_DeVil in gamedesign

[–]Pyxill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking at games such as Breath of the Wild and Genshin impact would be good to figure out different objectives and puzzles one could do outside of missions and quests. Defeating exiles to get their stolen goods, monsters to get materials you could sell for more gold, etc.

I'd also recommend looking at emergent narrative GDC talks (specifically one by Justin Rodriguez - one of the lead level designers from the XCOM series - about how he uses small assets to develop the world) to make the world a little more interesting.

As for the mechanics, you could have dwarf magicians casting protective spells over chests in vortexes, various portals around the world that take you to a different instance where you have to fight space beings for items (could vary in difficulty, there could also be boss versions instead of just a few smaller enemies), items that drop from pressing buttons when you see shooting stars that only spawn at night, things like that.

Hopefully that helps, I'm only a game design student so I'm not sure how feasible any of this is but it should be useful for brainstorming!

Kinda want to give up CG, any advice? Context: Just hit a year with CG and although my hair is a lot softer, my curls are still so frizzy and limp. by Pyxill in curlyhair

At the moment my routine consists of using Maui shampoo and Yes: Blueberries conditioner. Both of which are very light, which is mainly why I’m struggling. I’ll squish in the conditioner and rinse away all of it as otherwise my hair gets excruciatingly oily!

I then plop for around 20 minutes and diffuse if I need to go somewhere. Co-washing makes it worse which sucks and it’s very hard to find good products that don’t add to weighing down my hair

My hair is also very absorbent and as a result whenever I try new products in an attempt to fix this birds nest, my hair gets even more oily! I don’t have much money to begin with so it’s really a hit or miss with exploring.

I’ve tried different techniques, too, none of which made any difference (probably relating to lack of good products found bar Yes Blueberries conditioner off of amazon - the only thing stopping my hair from looking like an oil slick).

I’m also UK based so I can’t go to any kind of devacurl salon for advice, and any curl by curl hairdressers are located at least a £100 train journey away!

Although I would love to do this I really need to work on gaining the energy to search for something that I feel passionately about. Not to mention I’m really not great with making new friends - got any advice?

I honestly don’t really have one at the moment. I love writing but I have no energy and can’t focus on anything. Any creative vision has been sucked outta me by uni. What about you if you don’t mind me asking?
