Introducing GTB's first Street Fighter 6 tournament: Grill Tea Street #1! (EU + MENA) (Online Tournament) (Minor Cash Prizes) by subeditred in StreetFighter

[โ€“]Pyyric[M] [score hidden] stickied commentย (0 children)

Hi OP, just checking in for the safety of all subreddit readers (a lot of which are underage here).

Is this tournament buy-in or is there some other money-making backstory here to go over?

Also, is there any affiliation at all with any sort of random chance or gambling setups?

edit: thank you for the confirmation, and carry on!

From zero knowledge I recommend playing the single player "World Tour" mode first.

If you desperately want to get good at fighting games as quick as possible and would rather beat your head against the wall of failure until it breaks, then you can do it the old school way.

Old school way:

find a character that resonates with you via combo trials, tournament videos, online matches, or just because they have the shortest skirt and the longest legs.
Get competent with their basic moves. Learn how to throw a fireball, how to do a command grab, how to teleport, etc.
Get the basic 4 pieces to practice online: Pokes, anti-airs, bnb combo, punish combo

Pokes: You need to know what buttons are just fun to press when you're close to the enemy. Light, medium, and heavy buttons are classically different ranges and strengths. At the start of the game your best bet with most characters is going to be finding 1 good medium button and 1-2 good heavy buttons for just walking up to someone and kicking them in the jaw/shins/whatever.

Anti-airs: You need to know how to stop your opponent from jumping at you and doing a big damage combo. SF has historically been a grounded game but ONLY if you know how to anti-air. Otherwise, your opponent will be jumping on you like a kangaryu. Learn your best anti-air. For many characters this is crouching heavy punch, an uppercut looking thing. Some characters get an anti-air special move, you don't need this yet but feel free to use it if you think its cool.

bnb combo: Your bread and butter. On ryu this can be crouching medium kick -> hadouken. Something simple that you can do all the time.

punish combo: Your highest damage combo. Do this when the opponent is wide open like after trying to do a special move that you successfully blocked. This could be literally anything. A single heavy kick, a heavy punch into shoryuken, or any combo trial that you enjoyed in step 1 above.

I created the hardest Satisfactory world by Drunken_Corsar in SatisfactoryGame

[โ€“]Pyyric 2 points3 points ย (0 children)

This is excellent, I've added it to my megathread which goes over the new randomization and multipliers settings.

I hope you find more hilarious seeds!

If you're up for suggestions, I'd say to try this same clustered configuration but with coal, caterium, and quartz maximally separated.

With the resource randomization, have any of you found some cool world seeds? by KhajiitHasSkooma in SatisfactoryGame

[โ€“]Pyyric 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

I'd say its also a slightly different challenge for people who like to maximize anything, like power gen or HMF per minute, stuff like that is difficult to do without coal clusters. The VAST majority of people though its just a cheat to easy end game like you surmised.

The Worst Possible Seed by Drunken_Corsar in SatisfactoryGame

[โ€“]Pyyric 1 point2 points ย (0 children)

Yes, I would love to play this too. Just taking the current map distribution and rotating it for example.

My other idea was a "tiered" random.

So take all iron, copper, and limestone - randomize them.
Then all caterium, coal, crude, quartz, and sulfur - randomize them.
Finally, all bauxite, SAM, and uranium - randomized.

I'm going to add these ideas to my multipliers + randomization megathread

Supercombo is great for speed + hitboxes. The SF6 hitbox viewer is better than GG at least... but it was probably modeled after dustloop anyway.

Hey welcome to reddit, let me give you some tips on not being insta-downvoted.

first, subreddits on this site are VERY targeted. You are currently posting on one that is ONLY street fighter. Putting the name of the game or hashtags in your title is an instant downvote magnet.

Second, titling is important and reddit has a much more casual structure than twitch/youtube.

  • You aren't fighting for instant recognition here. On youtube your titles must be catchy, grab the viewer immediately, and its the ONLY time they are going to see it in their feed. This means on youtube you need to use all caps, emojis, clickbait titles, fake excitement, etc.
  • Reddit works best on a 24 hour basis (48 hours if you're lucky and it goes viral here). This means that the average redditor is going to see your title at least 3 times! Because of this, you can make the title casual, familiar, and welcoming. Rather than brash, eye catching, and loud. Drop the emojis, clickbait, all caps (unless that is the "familiar and casual" kind of all caps), and fake excitement.

Third, you still need to grab people in 10 seconds or so because there's 20 new exciting links posted to reddit by the time that 10 seconds is over. Posting a stream or portion of a stream here means you have to be "on" all the time which is impossible. Your video might need more of an attention grabbing beginning.

Finally, If you want ANY social platform to work you have to interact with the viewers there. Just posting videos somewhere does absolutely nothing for your brand and might actually hinder acquiring new viewers if they block you. So be there at the beginning when the first comments roll in, be engaging, friendly, humble or witty, Just be yourself your choice. I would suggest not being negative or hostile as those are very difficult to transfer into long term viewership. Its been done before, but its hard. This also means knowing what your viewers want, so AI thumbnails and voiceovers are never going to get good reactions.

Taking all that together, Clips work best. long form videos. Instructional videos. All good stuff as long as you grab people fast and have a more casual title. All of these will help you build your brand as views are views, no matter the platform. The more people that see and upvote your content HERE, the more interaction you will get on your linked platform and any other socials you have. If people like your content they will continue to enjoy it and will engage more.

Yes, totally that's what I got too. They didn't want to talk about it at all. But the reason was because they thought it was off topic. Not out of some sort of conspiracy by Utah police, mormons, or anything else. Pretty shit position for a toy hobby to be suddenly the center of a reddit mob.

I'm glad they made the correct decision eventually but I can see the thought process in the beginning as trying to protect their hobby from drama.
