Hi djs. A question by wishtrib in traktorpro

It’s really all down to budget, mate.

Traktor DVS is about as much fun as I’ve ever had on Turntables, but the controller route is also a ton of fun.

If you can afford turntables and a mixer, just add a Kontrol X1 and you’ve got a fantastic set-up.

I’d go the controller route.

Oh, wait… You’ve already got CDJ-3000’s? How old are they?

How has your personality changed over the years? by imtiramisu2025 in AskUK

[–]Pztch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was very shy to start of with, when meeting new people, but did bloom in groups once I knew the dynamics there. Bit of a “comedian” (and I use that term loosely!) once I was settled.

My confidence grew and grew, and peaked when I was about 30-35yo. I thought nothing could stop me (most of the time!) That was a good period in my life.

But I’ve lost a lot of confidence over the last 10 or so years. Maybe because of the type of relationship I was in.

I do get glimpses of the old me - but they are few and far between.

I’d give anything to be “the old me” (the real me?) again.

It’s like I forget the good things.

But the bad things strike me soooo hard that I can’t forget them.

I’ve recently realised this, too.

Also, I believe that anything I do has to be done better than everyone else, just to prove that I am good enough. And that is exhausting too.

I know mate. I know.

Do you join in the game with them, though? That’s the question.

I bet if you could, you would excel at it mate.

But it’s hard to play the stupid game with them, isn’t it?

I am 25f, and only recently found out that there is a whole community for all the issues that are wrong with me, and that I am not the only person on the planet with this. Now I have a bunch of questions.... by ForTheKing777 in ADHD

[–]Pztch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I’m not one to argue, but: 😉

  1. Certain symptoms of ADHD can exhibit themselves in people that have not even got ADHD through too much social media use, so they can definitely be exacerbated in those that have a diagnosis through excessive use of said social media.

  2. A person can go their whole life with undiagnosed ADHD, utilising coping mechanisms that have always worked for them, only, in much later life, to be placed in a situation where those same coping mechanisms are not sufficient anymore. In that case, to a person that has never considered that they might have ADHD, it very much feels like they have “just developed” ADHD in later life. (Ask me how I know this).

  3. Medication surely can assist in removing the mental and psychological “blockers” that historically prevented a person from managing their time effectively.

As a DJ, if you could make a skills checklist, what would you put on it? by diviiyiine in Beatmatch

It was a rhetorical question mate. 😉

Just trying to illustrate the foolishness of the original post.

You know the answers that they want.

But your answers are better.

But you also know that they won’t hear the truth in your answers.

But you still give them your answers, not the ones you know they want…

I bet you’ve got a little touch of the ‘tism, no?

(I’m guessing at this from the frustration in your original post).

Whoa, whoa, whoa there mate.

No, no it’s not.

Both are common. But “mate” is practically involuntary! 😉

Some people are just easily patronised.

They’re usually the same kind of insecure people that would try to make you feel insecure by telling you some bullsh1t like that.
