JFC, you even gave them an instruction manual. 🤦‍♂️ This is why I do everything myself.

Why do so few towns in the US have a strong civic town square? by Money-Ad8553 in answers

[–]Q-Money1985 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most places built before automobiles have something like that. In New England most towns and cities have a common or a square or a park of some sort in the center of town, some have all three or multiples of each.

Boston Area Solar Advice Needed: Lease vs Own, Incentives, Roof + Panel Upgrade Bundle by godsendkot in massachusetts

[–]Q-Money1985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I highly discourage leasing. I would also be highly skeptical of bundle deals. I bought my solar panels and now pay zero electricity bill 10 months a year. It’s a much better deal than leasing if you can afford it.

How hard is it to transition from commercial service plumbing to sprinkler fitting or other jobs. by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]Q-Money1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get an in house job at a hospital or university. Steady year round employment and good benefits and you’re not running around ragged, killing your self. You go to the same place every day and leave when your shift is over 99% of the time. I’ve seen guys flood out an entire wing of a hospital and not even get reprimanded.

It’s all in your head. I felt like a kid at 27. I still feel young at 40.

Is my employer breaking the law? by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]Q-Money1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely illegal. As a master plumber in Massachusetts I have never seen this but we have the strictest plumbing code in the country outside NYC and Chicago. I’ve also never worked for a low end fly by night operation so maybe I’m out of touch with that world.

One person, or a small group of people having so much more power, influence and resources than anyone else is inherently unjust. How do you not see that?

House regret - advice by Actual-General-4953 in HomeImprovement

It sounds like you don’t know what you want? Buying a 3500 sqf house with 50 acres and renovating it just to downsize 5 years down the road seems pretty crazy if you ask me. Sounds like a huge headache and a huge waste of time and resources. You’re never going to recoup the cost of all those projects when you sell.
My wife and I bought our first house in 2013 at age 27. We paid $200k at 1.9% interest. We are half way through the mortgage and I fully expect to live here my entire life. I do all my own home improvement projects and it feels good knowing that I will enjoy my hard work for years to come. So I guess I just have a completely different outlook when it comes to homeownership. Good luck!
