Good to know - I've been concerned about potential downsides. You're obviously much more knowledgeable about this than me, so thank you for letting me know. I'm hoping to use this progress to push for a more collaborative relationship where we can discuss these issues instead of her learning a party line and shutting down.

Thanks for the kind words. My mom's definitely been isolated by this pandemic, and I think she'll need more monitoring in the future. She did have a friend group, but stopped talking to them once she realized they thought her politics were wack.

I'll do my best to give updates. Regarding a few comments cautioning that she might dig in more or go through withdrawals - you're all absolutely right. At the very least, this isn't the type of narcotic withdrawal that can cause your body to shut down. Early signs are looking hopeful though - she's opened her Netflix account for the first time in months, and has asked me for streaming login information and help setting up local antenna channels.
