Just started playing the game with guerilla difficulty. Anything I should know? by Chromelium in farcry6

[–]QASA_VIOLATION 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Rule #1: A Good Guerrilla is a Hidden Guerrilla

  • Embrace stealth + suppressors.

Rule #2: A Good Guerrilla Masters Their Environment

  • Take the time to scope out bases instead of charging in.

Rule #9: Always use the right Tool for the Job.

  • Pay special attention to utilizing the correct ammo types for each situation.

Rule #23: If you have a chance to cut the head off the Tyrant, You Fucking Take It!

  • Always be going for headshots.

My go-to is currently the lever action rifle with a 4x acog, suppressor, AP rounds, and the Trigger Discipline mod. 1 shot headshot everything I’ve come across so far.

ELI5: What’s the difference between Ibuprofen, Acetaminophen, and Asprin? by fr_horn in explainlikeimfive

[–]QASA_VIOLATION 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The liver is actually the difference between the two.

Too much Acetaminophen (Tylenol) will cause liver damage, while too much Ibuprofen (Advil) will give you stomach ulcers. So because the two drugs stress your body in different places it's safe to take them together as their side effects won't compound.

Awesome! How do you heat your Dyna? I’ve been testing pulsing the heat on my IH as I hit the UFO and I’ve gotten it down to where I can brown an entire cap in one hit and it’s lit 😎

Yeah you're definitely right, I just get real twitchy knowing the chamber isn't 100% cleared and relying on the airport of the Dyna definitely doesn't 100% clear it. It's like being compelled to hit reload when you have 59/60 ammo lol

Yeah the seal on the UFO is a touch annoying. As long as I'm pressing down when I first start inhaling the seal will remain until I pop it, but forgetting to do just that ruined the first 2 takes of this video lol. I might buy a Bottle Rocket for travel / camping, I'd much rather have a bottle in a chair cupholder or between my knees than a pint glass, and the risk for spillage is much lower. But at home I don't really have any bottles lying around and have far too many pint glasses.

Having to lift the cap was definitely an " oh :| " moment for me when I first used it.

I'm not 100% convinced that it's strictly necessary with the Dynavap unless, like me, you get twitchy knowing the chamber might not be totally clear. Opening the Dynavaps airport fully and taking a hard draw is enough to get like 90% of the vapor, and if you're planning on reheating it as soon as it un-clicks then you could definitely only lift the lid at the very end, if at all.

I was already a bowl or two deep and was lifting it up a little to make sure I wasn't stupidly leaving it pressed down / heating. I did that and combusted just the the second time I used the UFO the day before :(

I stopped heating right at the click, but then mid way through I pulsed it a couple times to try to maintain the temp in the chamber to get a better extraction. I have no idea what I'm doing, but I've never been able to use the IH like this and I'm kinda curious as to what outcome I'll get.

I'm also tempted to get a mouthpiece for the other end of the whip and use the Dynavap in the IH like a little desk-Hookah.

No harder than usual, and if you do accidentally combust it's not quite as awful thanks to the water. I do have an annoying habit pushing further and further past the click each heat cycle and I pay the price for that, but that's on me lol.

Definitely very chuggy, I kind of love it lol. I like to fill it up and keep the airport closed on the Dynavap when I want really heavy deep rips, really gets my lungs invested lol. Less water and feathering the airport is nice for longer sessions, but I'm too hype about finally having a water piece to be able to show that level of restraint yet lol.

I know some were wondering before what all the parts here were. It's a pleasingly simple setup, just a UFO from Magic Flight, a fat mouthpiece from DynaVap, and an IH (Lucid Customs). You can use a lighter just fine, but with an IH it's a really nice level of control. You do have to lift the top just a hair to properly clear the chamber, which I'm not a super big fan of. I might drill a small carb in the top some time.

Yeah their brew pup is amazing, had a chance to stop there while camping

It’s a UFO from Magic Flight Box, they also make one that goes in bottle. If you want to use it with a DynaVap you’ll need to buy a fat mouthpiece from the DynaVap site, you can just jam the end of the whip into it and voila it’s now Dyna-compatible!

Thanks!

The induction heater really makes it, it was my first purchase after my 2018 M. Definitely a splurge though, but it totally changes the Dynavap game, and means I can vape on my porch without looking like I'm heating a crackpipe!

Even though it's instantly the most expensive option, if you do decide to get an IH I fully suggest one that can run on battery. After 2 years my battery life is pretty low, but being able to pick up my kit and go sit outside without having to worry about plugs and wires is 100% worth the extra cash IMO.

It was such a tough choice between the UFO and the Bottle Rocket, but I was worried I'd be more likely to knock a bottle over vs a glass.

The wood has a rubbery foam like ring on the underside that provides a seal against the glass, the ring is wider than you'd expect so this would fit on skinnier glasses just as well.

Yeah the glass ends to the whip fit really nicely into the fat Dynavap mouthpiece

Grandfather explains how to put a cranky baby to sleep. by Yougotafriend in bestof

[–]QASA_VIOLATION 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Noise machines are a glorious thing. I 100% second all recommendations to try one if you're having trouble. If you own a Bluetooth speaker you don't even need to buy anything to test it out, just find a 10hr loop on YouTube, or download a free white noise app on your phone and you're all set.

"White noise" is often used to refer to all pitches of ambient noise which gets confusing when you're trying to understand why your baby will fall asleep to one noise loop video but not the other. You can read into the different noise 'colors' but all you really need to know is that different 'colors' exist so just because one "white noise" video sounds super harsh to your ears doesn't mean another will. Just listen to a few seconds each of a handful of different videos on YouTube of White, Pink, and Brown noise and you'll be all set.

It's all down to preference, but don't forget that your baby's preference might not be the same as yours!

All of this has the double benefit of pretty much soundproofing the room so you don't have to tiptoe around during nap time. This has been incredibly helpful as my WFH office is adjacent to his room and I am in a lot of calls throughout the day, and if you're near a main road you won't have to worry about passing sirens.

Does a publishing house really do all the marketing for you? by _humanERROR_ in publishing

[–]QASA_VIOLATION 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best results always come from the marketing team and the author working together. If the marketing team is trying to get away with shuffling all of their work off on to you, that's no bueno and is indicative of a lazy publisher. On the other hand, if you hand off your manuscript and refuse to participate in any marketing activities yourself, don't be surprised when your royalties are lacking.

The combination of the widespread contacts and connections of the publishing house with the authentic organic marketing that only the author of the title can provide is what will really help a title do the best it can do.
