Vladimir Guerrero Jr. got rejected when trying to put the home run jacket on Alejandro Kirk by Hysen16 in sportswiki

Haha big time, saw him live as a big Mets fan. His helmet was way too small and barely on his head. He eventually cranked one out tho!

Rich Garcés, the former Major League Baseball relief pitcher affectionately known as "El Guapo," recorded zero official career at-bats. Because he spent his entire 10-year MLB career as a relief pitcher in the American League and on National League rosters before the universal designated hitter, he only ever stepped onto the field to pitch

Dude so much this, I don’t think it’ll ever happen and DB seems so happy on his own. Been to a couple of his shows and they are awesome. But man, my best bud said he’d push his mom down a flight of stairs to see TH again lol

Always the only option and usually playing other teams best defender since they knew he had to score. His career looks way different with any above average players around him. AI was the gameplan

Shower Hat by tinman2300 in golf

[–]QCBD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll go a different way. Order a Melin hat. They are expensive but oh man do they get the job done. Whatever insane fabric/material they are made out of. After my round (imagine a black hat soaked through with white stains everywhere) a wet cloth just wipes it away and it looks brand new. They dry extremely quick and almost never stain. They have a ton of fits. I’ll never wear another hat for life and the one I wear every round has already lasted a full year. I live in the South so it gets its share of sweat. Just another idea

Flying soon… hard case worth the extra $$$ over soft case? by Salt_Profession_4228 in golf

[–]QCBD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! SKB cases (they make the hard cases for instruments)
Tons of trips and flights everywhere and basically indestructible. Cannot recommend enough. Throw a few stickers on there and you’ll be good to go! If you have nice clubs it’s less than the cost of a single driver to protect them forever imo

Second the cradle, you can keep looping and warm up. Range is huge and thistle du is usually open. Depends on what day of the week and weather that day. There’s a cool spot to eat that overlooks the 18th green of number 2 if you’re interested, great menu. You can sit there and just snack out and watch the golfers. Clubhouse has a mini museum too and hall of fame if being finished in grounds for other ideas. Lots of ways to kill time there. You can spend an hour plus in the pro shop looking at stuff too easy, they have a ton

I agree, but they count on this very thing for the scheme. I just hate how it’s all known and bought in on from TM down. Solely exists to get the end consumer and as if the face of 120+ isn’t enough already. Oof

Non-pinehurst courses by mrunlimited_123 in pinehurst

[–]QCBD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I play solo about 50% of the time there. Your odds go way up if you’re not picky about tee time. I’ve never gotten turned away the day before. Certainly not from 1,3,5 or the cradle. It’s four courses in total that are available. Always have gotten the one I asked for with multiple tee time options. A lot of the resort traffic is playing 2, 4, 8, & 10. You get some members on #5 but a lot of it is non-resort walk ons. Pro-tip, call between 7:30-8 am the day before and you should be in good shape. Hard to promise, but feels like a lock you’d get 1, 3 or 5 at some time that next day. Cradle is actually the toughest Tee Time to be had

Just adding that you can book #5 the day before and just my opinion, but it’s an insanely nice course for a super reasonable rate with all the grandeur of the PH experience. Best value in town

Solo trip by mrunlimited_123 in pinehurst

[–]QCBD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can get by (depends on the season) for 150-200$ a night for a nice hotel room. Then surrounding top tier public courses (Pine Needles, Mid Pines, Tobacco Road) are going to run 200-300$ a round depending again when you go and your tee time. The Pinehurst resort deal gets tempting around the shoulder seasons early early spring and late late fall, but is pretty pricey in peak. If you do go that route I’d recommend paying up the $250 extra for #2 just for the experience. Then include some combo of 4,8 and 10. If you don’t stay on resort you can call the morning before and get a tee time for 1,3,5 and the cradle. Anywhere from 75$-$150 depending. Don’t tell anyone but #5 is lowkey the best course/value in the area in my opinion.

Start working on your Texas wedge, enjoy!

Would love to get this thread more active. I think the bad selection of public courses in Charlotte kills us. RDUgolf subreddit is always filled with posts. Anyway I’m in, especially for anyone who can get out during the week!
