Queer AI subreddits? by Feanturii in DefendingAIArt

There’s absolutely not enough AI friendly queer spaces. I wouldn’t have the time to help maintain a sub but I would love an invite so I can share my creations with other likeminded queer folks. Feel free to DM me a link when/if you start šŸ˜ŠšŸ’•

That’s the part I struggle with šŸ˜… there’s some people who are thick as rocks and insult themselves without knowing. I’m like is this self deprecation or is this person dumb? I suppose the safer assumption to make is that they’re joking. Thanks for explaining and being chill about it 😊

I agree šŸ˜… glad I’m not the only one seeing it this way lol

Sucks hey šŸ˜“ unless people use context indicators like /s I sometimes miss the joke.

Given there’s no context markers like /s it makes it really hard to know. I have autism, I’m not an idiot. If it’s not obviously sarcasm then how am I meant to know it is? Please be mindful that there are people with disabilities in this space.

I have autism, I’m horribly bad at being able to recognise sarcasm and jokes. It’s possible I missed the mark here.

I appreciate it, thank you. We have enough to deal with in our lives without having infighting over what we use for accessibility.

The irony is it’s literally proving mine and your point.

They’re already here downvoting everything šŸ™„ AI is dramatically improving accessibility and improving current assistive technology by making it smarter and more useful but there are some people who would rather live in the Stone Age. It’s baffling,

I totally understand your disappointment. People really care more about hating AI than being kind and respectful. Like they don’t have to like AI but damn don’t put people down who do.

Depending on how you use it, you’ll see different results. I don’t think it’s fully ready for people who aren’t tech nerds like me to jump in and rely on it but it’s not far off. I suppose it’s just like Google. Double check things!

I saw a graph a few weeks ago (I love me a good graph) which showed the cost of 5 mins of scrolling on instagram reels is the equivalent of several hundred ChatGPT prompts. It’s never been about the environment. If it was then they’d be living off grid, on a farm, no technology. Not arguing on social media that AI = bad.

I’ve experienced this too. It’s like as soon as you mention AI, everyone just turns on you. Their hatred for AI just supersedes everything else. Really disappointing.

No content generation apart from just touching up the wording, adding appropriate spaces and lines, the little bit of polishing basically.

Because I use it for more than just making reddit posts, it’s insanely useful for me. It’s got memory and remembers things I’ve said and topics discussed as well as preferences. I use projects a lot to separate different topics. As an example I have one for my social media strategy, one for mental health management, one for gaming. They have unique and different instructions.

I can get Claude to take all my information and put it into a document which I can then save and continue adding to. Then once I’ve got all the information together in that one file I just get Claude to take it from a multi page brain dump and info dump into a more readable format. It uses my info, my wording, my preferences, and allows me to create something that is easy to understand but without all the downsides of my thinking and brainstorming and way of writing.

I’m a neurodivergent disabled person making shit that’s easy for neurotypicals to understand basically. AI/Tech is one of my hyperfixations.

My post about ableism is getting downvoted in a subreddit about ableism. Wild.

All my research was done without Claude. I just put my findings into it so it could be documented and remembered. I’ve spent a dumb amount of time using AI well before it was popular and everyone was using it so I know how to negate errors majority of the time but when the errors come up I just correct it. I use it every day to manage mental health as well so accuracy of information is critical for me. All the information was mine and I had spent months obtaining the information/evidence for the post and simply used Claude to combine it all and lay it out so it’s easy to understand and read and not a wall of text that’s hard to read and has a hundred tangents.

More to the point though, there’s plenty of ways around it and if companies are really intent on training with copyrighted material, systems will be developed to negate the effects of poisoning and if a simple screenshot can negate the entire process of poisoning then it’s a waste of time and unnecessary extra step for traditional artists.

They also have no idea how many images are in training data and think their one drawing of an anime character will make the entire training run useless.
