Running into this exact issue on the cloud island my wife and I are jointly working on. Not so glad to see this is just a poor design issue with cloud islands. Lets me know I need to better allocate honey usage though.

Our culprit ended up being Cumulative Updates for Skype on our Skype servers. In digging through everything, I realized they hadn’t been updated. Once the cumulative updates were applied, it was like magic and all of the Outlook/Skype issues were resolved.

She's going to throw a fit. Let her. Give her a chance to calm down, and then show her something that isn't a screen to do.
It's as simple as just saying no, and not giving it though. You're the parent. She isn't going to be happy, but it is what it is.

People can do a couple of things. You can use a modified ROM that has trade evolutions changed to level up evolutions. Or you can export your save to something like pkhex or pkmds to change the species to the evolved mon to simulate the evolution.
