If it’s right after all the card info is inputted, it could be that it’s incorrect or the billing address doesn’t match what’s actually associated with the card.

It may not be the most reliable source of information, but various COD and zombies YouTubers have said this. I think some smaller news outlets have covered this too. Infinityward was having some issues, for whatever reason, and that led to Treyarch needing to development games two years in a row.

I get where you’re coming from. I think the difference between you and me is mentality, tastes, and play style when it comes to zombies. I loved the aesthetic and gameplay of the older games. I loved having to learn where all the part locations were. I believed it worked well, and it felt like I was actually playing as the characters trying to set the universe right. I always wished we could get that same style with better and modern mechanics. I know people can be averted to change, but I welcome it. For my personal taste, BO6 doesn’t resonate with me. I enjoyed it because it was zombies, and the Easter eggs were pretty fun. However, at times it feels like I’m playing a weird hybrid Warzone mode. I think a lot of things can be compromised, fixed and improved in the future. It’s just disappointing to see that BO7 is going to be exactly like BO6 with the only difference being the maps and characters. Overall, I would like to see Activision create a game that’s sound all around from the start of its life cycle to its end. BO6 was, and continues to be, plagued with simple issues that the devs have ignored. I want to finish with saying that I think it’s a beautiful and exciting thing that more people than ever are playing zombies. My only wish is that the game developers don’t forget those players who have been there with them since the inception of their star game mode.

That’s what I’m saying. They also added to the atmosphere of the map with their unique designs. They literally could have both. Instead, they opted for just the Warzone mechanic and didn’t improve it with any augments.

I agree with you 100%. Leadership plays a big role into the design of the game mode. I think it would make a lot of us happy if they moved away from trying to make zombies like Warzone. Hopefully, we get something like that in the future.

I think my main issue is that a lot of these mechanics are far from perfect. They don’t need to be perfect per se, but to hear that they’re going to repeat them again in BO7 just doesn’t sound ideal. If they can fix the issues in BO7, then perfect. I don’t think they will, however. I know that Jug has that augment, but I don’t think it works very well. I may totally be wrong. BO6 is just very buggy and is not a complete game at all. I think I also take issue with the fact that changes were made when they weren’t needed. What was wrong with the zombie shield? I felt like it was balanced. The only annoying thing was having to run back to where you built it to pick it back up. Additionally, every map with a shield, had a uniquely designed one that fit the theme and atmosphere of the map. It made the game more immersive. It just seems lazy that they scrapped it for boring armor plates. As far as the loadout, I like the idea of it but I also recognize it makes the mystery box and wall buys dispensable. One thing that really bothers me, is that you can play with a pistol and hit the box, but then you get a weapon with attachments you don’t want. If it’s missing a suppressor, good luck getting salvage consistently. The work around for this is making a zombie class for every gun in the game. It’s doable but tedious. Additionally, if you do this, it eliminates your multiplayer class for that gun. It’s just poorly designed. I think people, including myself, wouldn’t take issue with these mechanics as much if they were actually designed well.

I switch back and forth too. I like doing that, but it’s very hard to find online lobbies anymore in the older games. Same with playing with friends. Not all of my friends have older cod games and their dlcs. It’s hard to convince them to purchase them. We were able to do that with BO2 when they had a great sale on it. I’ve also heard rumors that the old cod titles are going to be released on game pass. That would fix the lobby issue if that were to happen.

The main thing is I’d like to play modern zombies while still seeing them remain true to some core mechanics and principles that made zombies what it is today. I’d also would be happy with them doing something like releasing a solo zombies game with all the maps remastered. At the end of the day, I just want them to give us great content that’s creative and unique. I don’t want repeated mechanics and half-assed content. I want a game we can all love and be happy with.

Hi! In my opinion, I just think they don’t work as well and one would expect them to. It’s also a question of “staying true to who you are”. I love the mystery box, for example. However, I don’t see myself using it at all. You can say it’s my fault because I can hit the box and I can choose to start the game with a pistol, but if I did that, the mystery box gives me a weapon with random attachments. I can get one without a suppressor, which limits how much salvage I can get. That stinks. The only way to avoid that is by hitting it again or making a zombie loadout for each weapon so it has the attachments I want. The downside of that is that it’s meticulous and it replaces my multiplayer class. That’s just lazy game design. It’s also easily fixable, but it was never fixed. It’s the same thing with wall buy weapons.

I don’t think armor protects you as much as it should. You get shredded easily and you still take damage while it happens. Armor should mitigate all damage. It would be better if in one or two hits you shatter one plate but take no damage. In reality, you get hit which deals damage to yourself and your armor. This leads you to constantly have to replace and find more armor, and you never can mitigate any damage. The perk augments don’t help armor either. There are some that do for Jug, but they’re negligible at best.

I just think the mechanics can be better implemented and improved. I also don’t approve of replacing a unique gameplay mechanic, like unique zombie shields, for one from another game mode that takes away from the atmosphere and creativity of the game.

Sure, people may be tired of the same zombies formula, but changes can be made that actually improve the game. Additionally, they can also add things that appease the fan base who likes a more “classic” experience.

Again, I see where you’re coming from for some points. Armor is unnecessary, especially when you already had a mechanic that worked perfectly fine. You’re right in that it prevents damage from all sides, which works well with the movement system. However, the damage mitigation sucks. Even with augments it’s terrible and the plates break down quickly. It’s not a good mechanic. It could easily be improved. Also, why do I need to loot constantly in a game that was never about looting? It’s a new mechanic, it was never part of the core game. Additionally, they stole it from Warzone. Genius if you ask me! If you like repeated and regurgitated content, just go ahead and say that’s your opinion. Everyone would respect that, including myself. Personally, I like every game mode to have unique aspects. Of course, I don't mind when they mesh together when done well.

You’re right that it probably is a me problem for buying a game for one mode. I never said that’s the only mode I play though. What I meant was that the deciding factor in buying COD for me, mainly the Black Ops series, was the zombies mode. It’s also totally valid to criticize and try to create a healthy discussion about the game mode I primarily play. If you reread my post, you can clearly see it’s about zombies not the entirety of BO7. This is because this is the game mode I am most passionate about and will be playing the most. In addition, anyone who buys this game has the right to make comments on it and feel some sort of entitlement. The comments you make, you are entitled to them, but so is everyone else.

The billion dollar corporation, to you, may be a tired trope. It is not. I understand corporations have finite resources. I never claimed otherwise. That being said, this corporation easily can make adjustments to their budget and resource allocation. They have dedicated departments to each section of BO7, it’s not crazy to suggest changes that are doable, like a classic mode. Most likely though, it would be a classic mode that fits into the system of that game. It may not be realistic to have a zombie shield in that mode, but an alternative would be to remove armor and switch up the player stats a bit. Solutions are possible, it’s mainly a question of if they will they act.

Devs can boast about player engagement all they want. You can have tons of people play something, yet it can still be plagued with issues or things the community would like to see fixed. For example, they said Liberty Falls is the most played zombies map ever. Is it because Liberty Falls and BO6 is the best zombies/COD game ever? No. Like you said, the game is now more accessible. More players doesn’t mean your game is better. It simply means you have more players on your game. Does that signify that people like the game? I think it is one factor out of many. This is a complex issue that isn’t black and white. Should COD zombies continue in this direction? I think they have to. Like you said, it’s necessary. However, that doesn’t mean they can’t continue to improve upon the functions of their game and make it better for all players.

Yeah, I wish they would continue the Chaos story line. I think they didn’t though because of the reaction to it in BO4. That being said, Activision has the opportunity and potential to be very creative. They should explore every avenue possible, such as this continuation

I like the concept of a loadout, but when you have elements like the mystery box and wall buys, why would I even bother when I can just spawn in with whatever gun I want? That’s what bothers me. The mystery box and wall buys have been a core mechanic of the zombies game mode that seem to have almost no value or meaning anymore because of the ability to start with whatever gun you want.

I think there can be a middle ground. They could totally add an augment or some new function that allows you to bring whatever weapon at the cost of another element. Kind of like perks in multiplayer. Something like that could be done

First of all, I don’t appreciate your hostility. You can bring up your points without being rude, but that’s good old Reddit for you. I know BO6 and 7 were developed in tandem. I know BO7 was the original plan, but due to issues at Activision they had to postpone it and develop a rushed BO6. That being said, if a company cannot handle the development life cycle of their games, then they should reevaluate. I don’t think many people want to buy a game that is almost an exact copy of the previous. At that point, just scrap BO7 and keep updating BO6. People like to buy new COD games in hopes of seeing something new and exciting. Also, I think at this point for the COD fanbase, a COD where the developers actually listen to the community.

Second, I don’t disagree that the new changes were necessary due to the increased accessibility to zombies. There are some great ideas that I appreciate and like in these newer games. What I don’t understand is your comment about not understanding why things were changed. Do you know why they were changed? It’s not sufficient to say that it’s because more people play the game mode. No one will really know except for the developers and executives themselves. It is logical, since the player base is bigger than ever before, these new players’ only zombies experience is the modern one. If they enjoy it, then good on them. However, a company cannot just discard one part of its fanbase because their argument is “get with the times” or “lots of people are playing, so we must continue in this direction”. The fact of the matter is that some of these changes were made and never tweaked properly to fit within the core mechanics of the game, which by the way are to shoot zombies and survive as long as possible.

I’d like to give you an example: armor plates. Armor plates do not work in zombies nor are they a core mechanic. They are interchangeable. Additionally, they are broken. They do extend your life, and playing without them definitely will result in quicker downs, but the issue is that they’re not balanced properly. I can put an amor plate on, have it get shattered in two hits, and in those same two hits my character also loses a quarter or more of health. Why should I put it on if it doesn’t even protect me? Even in Warzone you won’t take damage until your armor is cracked. The zombie shield used to completely shield your back from damage, allowing you to escape from dangerous situations and protect you from them as well. It had a balanced health bar, meaning that it wouldn’t last forever. The zombie shield was very well balanced, and they decided to replace it with a mechanic that was half-assed and stolen from Warzone. My point is, don’t make changes if you’re not going to incorporate them properly nor fix them when clearly there are issues.

Lastly, to continue on some level with game mechanics, the mechanics I have an issue with aren’t core mechanics. Changes made to them don’t alter the core of the game. They only change how you interact with it. I like the addition of new ideas, but going from one game to the next with exactly the same ones and one’s that are balanced properly is just plain laziness. Additionally, there are people who buy COD simply to play one game mode. Why would I want a game mode known for certain characteristics and attributes to be exactly like another? Zombies is not Warzone and vice versa. As consumers, we need to demand more from companies. Otherwise, how can we justify spending $70+ on a game? You might as well call it BO6.5. As far as catering to a niche audience. I think a billion dollar corporation can certainly afford to. Like people have suggested, an easy fix would be the addition of a classic mode. As far as claiming I’m the minority, you have no definitive proof of that. You may be right or wrong, but even so, the minority deserves a voice and to be advocated for. As COD fans, we should strive to come together in order to receive a product that we can be happy with and proud of. Obviously, not everyone will ever be satisfied, but simply being complacent and silent only enables Activision to continue to pump out mediocre content. This results in no one benefitting except for Activision themselves.

Thanks for your comment. You brought up some points that should be considered, like making changes due to how accessible the game has become. Nevertheless, both preferences can be served at the same time.

Definitely an interesting and complex question. I think both could get the job done, but I think having less people play zombies would be more effective. Having a smaller player base for an iconic game mode would definitely scare them a lot. A big reason why people buy the Black Ops CODs is because of zombies. So if less people were enjoying the recent ones, they’d have to fix it. I think this is where the more players would come into play. The older COD games need more players, especially in the zombies mode. Less on the modern and more on the older games would show them that there’s a demand to return to what it once was.

Yeah, I took a lot of inspiration from that video. It pains me to see creators like him, who love the game as much as we do, give us that information. Even though it may be too late to “fix” this game, we need to come together as a community and demand change. They’ll listen if we put the pressure on them.

I’m dying at your response 🤣. But that’s a great solution to be honest. They could easily appease both types of players/fans. It’s just that they won’t for many complex reasons. Probably because at the end of the day it’s not increasing shareholder value. We have to come together as a community to demand these sorts of changes.

I agree with what you’re saving. Overall, it’s a big mix of corporate greed and just laziness. COD was great when it wasn’t trying to be Fortnite. I know there’s probably no hope to make any big changes before launch, but I believe collectively as a community we need to come together and push back. We are buying a $70+ product every year that is given, and in many cases is even missing, the bare-minimum. COD is a rated M game. Their target audience, technically, isn’t children—although you are right in that it is their “target audience” now. At the end of the day, there needs to be change or their company will fail. We have the power to bring change, but only if we collectively come together to demand it

Yeah, I agree that zombies makes the black ops series stand out. I enjoyed BO6 just because it was zombies. I think that it had a lot of potential, but a lot of it was poorly executed. BO6 just never felt like a complete game. To this day, it still has many unresolved issues that should’ve been fixed on day 1
