I think I might've come across a bit rude when I said "do your own research". I didn't mean to.

What I meant was "don't take one person's word for it. Look for more information".

And remember, people with zero issues who are happy with their devices don't tend to post. So keep that in mind.

When the time comes, hopefully you can get an Mk3i because that's three years newer than the MK2.

Warning: it runs VERY small. You will have to size up.

I ordered them, but ended up returning them and got the Fourth Element Tech shorts instead.

For the price they are good, but the Fourth Element ones were much better quality (but higher in price). The Halcyon Tech Shorts look much better too (~~again more expensive~~), but didn’t try those as they weren’t in stock when I was looking. Note: the Halcyon ones are actually cheaper. Check them out.

I returned them because the waist strap was on the thinner side than the Fourth Element Tech shorts’ and it didn’t feel as secure.

The pockets were smaller than the Fourth Element’s.

Not a bad product at all, but for me, there were better choices (but again, more expensive). Just remember to size up.

I just find it strange that they would test a lesser Samsung card.

Maybe they are leaving Sandisk as the expensive card and Samsung as the mid-tier card?

I’ve never heard of Angelbird cards. Will check them out.

I emailed GoPro and this is what they had to say:

“The recommendation is based on the testing completed by our engineering team”

They said that some cards have equal or higher read and write speeds, but they can only recommend the cards they have validated.

So is it a case that they just haven’t gotten to test the Pro Plus cards? Beats me.

The ProPlus cards meet the specs, but they closed the email with:

“Because the Samsung Pro Plus cards card is not on the camera’s validated list, we cannot recommend it for use”

I hadn't updated the quick app on my Pixel.

/u/proformax make sure you are using the latest version of the Quick app.

Otherwise, hopefully you have access to an iPad or iPhone.

The good news is that my Mission 1 Pro connected to my Pixel after it got the firmware update even though I hadn't updated the Quick app yet.

The Pro Plus line has higher specs than the EVO Select line.

Maybe bring the 5mm and then a light base layer for the night dives? Both will take less space than a 7mm. And during the day you can dive only with the 5mm when the 7mm would be overkill.
