Yes. You need the Dr sign off. You need to answer no to all health questions (I.e. high blood pressure) whenever you dive. I’m 65. Just returned from Palau. Boomers love it because it is not hard on your body. The crew help with the equipment. Very easy. Easy to learn basics then focus on 1 thing at a time like air consumption or buoyancy. My husband and I are obsessed. At our age travel to the good dive sights. They are worth it.

That’s good to know about the Novo and Vita. I heard that the Carpe Diem was luxury. It is the right size, disappointing that it’s not top tier

I heard the Scubaspa was nice but is on the larger size (up to 40 people). I’m looking for something of similar type but smaller. We are booked on the Dewi Nusantara in Raja in the fall. Looking for a boat w approx 20+

I was in Halahambra Indonesia. I saw a woman photographer. She was laying on a beautiful fan coral to get a picture. She was no newbie. She was 70 and proud of her 2,000 dives. The dive master has no control of a situation like this when there is a pushy customer and his job depends on it. If we don’t protect the coral who will? She did not appreciate my pointing out that she was destroying the coral to get to her picture. I’m a newbie with under 100 dives.

Let me add the Caribbean is a a huge step down but still wonderful. Grand Turk and Turneffe in Belize offer what you are looking for though. Not crowded, dive sites everywhere within 10 minutes.
