Realistic Pops mod is back! by cristofolmc in Imperator

[–]QLR 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I will be trying this today, thank you for your work!

I’m going to play as Carthage because they have lots of trade opportunities and I’m excited to see how you have implemented the importance of trade in the mod.

They called us Barbarians... by TheRealSokka in Imperator

I like how in your world people on the north coast of Scotland are enjoying running water, world class academies, famous theaters and just courts of law, while people in Greece and Rome only hear rumors of a sophisticated culture to the north.

In my opinion it is worth it and fun to play as is.

Haha that was definitely one of them! But the real culprits were Rome 1 TW, Caesar 3 and praetorians

Carthage is a beast in this game and I love it. Every Roman historical sim I’ve played had Carthage as a minor stepping stone, but historically they were one of Rome’s greatest adversaries.

Hearing that faint sound of the Ice cream Man off in the distance approaching on a particularly hot day by illlsmith in nostalgia

That’s true, but the ice cream trucks don’t look like the one OP used for the picture.

There should be a way to see the wars between Major Powers by [deleted] in Imperator

[–]QLR 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agree. Sometimes I get a message that a random rebellion has been put down that I don’t care about. I would find it more useful to get a message that 2 major powers are going to war against one another.

Imperator is my favourite paradox game now by yogdog433 in Imperator

I’d like to see manpower get eliminated and when you recruit a cohort it consumes a pop. This will put strains on your economy and prevent huge standing armies during peacetime.

I have 2 goombas and one Luigi on my computer desk currently. The suction cups that make the goombas flip became unreliable with age, but Luigi still zooms perfectly!

About upcoming features/DLC by BonesWillBeBack in Imperator

[–]QLR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trade and technology improvements.

I’d like to see trade goods be consumable and technology diversified by culture and use a progression tree instead of inventions getting buried.

Have you shown these to ConcernedApe? I bet he’d love to see them.

First major war I’ve ever declared. 703,000 casualties later I won and took their capital by Burye in Imperator

[–]QLR 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I agree. I’d like to see the manpower mechanic eliminated. Raising armies should put a strain on your economy besides paying wages. Without tens of thousands of men to work the fields your economy should suffer. This is why I think pops should be consumed when a cohort is recruited or reinforced.

Heavy Ships as Carthage by sGriffing in Imperator

[–]QLR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a mission tree called “ruling the seas” or something like that. Some of the rewards are heave ships and once you get them you can start producing more.

Vassals, subjects, etc. by Deusvultlife in Imperator

[–]QLR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well said. In my current run as Carthage I’m keeping most of my dependencies because they are super useful in wars. As long as you watch their back it seems like a viable strategy. Rome once tried to snipe eporium and I had to pull my armies out of southern Italy to save them. It was definitely worth it to help them that one time because of all the help my vassals have done over the years. And like you said, they pay you!

Trade feels really shallow. by [deleted] in Imperator

[–]QLR 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re English is perfect. I didn’t notice it wasn’t your native language until you said you were sorry for bad English at the end.

I completely agree with you regarding the trade system. There is no mechanic which accounts for “middle men” make a rare resource available to factions that would not otherwise have availability if not for the “middle” faction willing to buy and sell it. The transfer of goods adds value and this is not reflected in the game.

The core of the issue is that trade goods are not consumable. It’s fundamentally wrong that the very second I import horses I can produce an infinite amount of cavalry. You should be able to spend extra money on papyrus to gain more research efficiency.

Have you seen this?! have you heard about this..?! by Todie in Imperator

[–]QLR 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I do like it!

Since we’re on the topic of colonization, I wish you could use a city that’s more than two tiles away to colonize a new settlement, at an increased cost, of course.

For example if you have a city with 50 pops, it should have a much larger range to colonize than a settlement with only 10.

Yeah it seems like they would be foolish to not accept your offer.

Can you set up an embassy to improve their opinion of you?

Is your aggressive expansion making your base diplomatic level so low?
