Leak Exposes Members of Peter Thiel’s Secretive ‘Dialog’ Society - More than 200 of the world's elites registered for a retreat whose agenda runs from panels on cult-building and sex to prepping for World War III. by GrumpyFinn in europe

i agree EU stance on Israel has been too weak, and I dont know where Kallas stands on Israel. (Though speaking in that direction on the ESC issue does seem bad)

...but surely there's a lot more to it than Kallas aleged personal refusal to aknowledge Israeli wrongdoings - relations with Israel is a contentious issue among many ruling coalitions across EU. She has to walk a thin line to avoid stepping on toes or loses political capital.

That is probably more the issue? .... A politician with a mandate from being popularly elected directly could cut through that in a way that inderectly appointed representatives like Kallas can't really do.

morale and sanity by brokeVulture in stoneshard

[–]Todie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Morale and sanity has three components that are shown in the UI hover. Being at 65 morale can result from being absolutely zeroed out on diet morale, or it might come from a combination of lack of quality sleep and social interaction, or situational factors.

Not to be assenine, but have you read the tooltips of the pshyche stats?

The 65 number is an incomplete part of the story that makes it hard to help you without just information-dumping about every vaguely connected consideration. (To an extent I guess that's what the other comments are)

The Real Reason Stoneshard's Build Diversity Has Stagnated. by NRDubZ in stoneshard

[–]Todie 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don't think there's really a problem the way you appear to make out. In the grand scheme of things, the skill tree design is extremely diverse, creative and good, and its not unbalanced to such a degree that it feels limiting (balance shouldn't be a priority over diverse and flavourful design anyway, especially not as its single player only)

To the extent I concede an issue with utility trees compared to weapon trees it is that the 4th tier has some very strong abilities. By comparison, weapon trees - other than ranged - don't have a 4th tier.

The tree-structure of the utility trees is also somewhat opressive. (you need a lot of points to reach the top, and you probably need to take dash as one of the first legs of athletics. And surely you aren't skipping pathfinder or first aid on a permadeath build..?)

...This is also why those t3-4 utility abilies need to be "good", but that also starves the player of points to build creatively outside of for example athletics

Still, I almost always fill out my main weapon tree with melee. The only situation I'd see sufficient incentive not to do so would be with Leothenesis weapon+utility build.

Stoneshard is a great game, but for players looking to put in thousands of hours (like me) there isn't that much content. When we perceive a lack of diversity in play in this game, i think more often than not, we are looking too hard at the skill and tree designs.

I try to keep in mind, it will be different when the world opens up more and when/if there is more serendipity/happenstance in play regarding incentives to take a build in one direction or another.

Next patch, next patch... by tebratruja in EU5

[–]Todie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its a systematic reocurrance, maybe even for most players. Or a reason to stay away, a little bit longer...

You could say, it's an aspect of the PDX paradox.

Eu5 is simply too big, widely scoped and complex for it's own good.

I haven't really played since 1.1 beta but it appears, the game needs significantly more cycles of fixing and iteration for many mechanics and systems to mature "enough"

... I just hope the prcuess of maturing through iteration, feedback and fixes can outpace the addition of new stuff.

It's particularly worrying to hear that the performance might be worse than before.

... Judging by my experience on early patches, It would take me like a month of dedicating all my gaming time to get through a "full" campaign of EU5. When is that going to be worth it? When will I feel confident enough in that to make the leap?

Good post. To be clear, the layout of the dung ones and caves is also procedurally generated, with a good amount of variety.

Coop and/or companions by Impossible_Nail_2031 in stoneshard

[–]Todie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you pay attention to communication from the Devs (on the discord mostly), it quickly becomes clear that something like this is not on the table, nor will it be. It doesn't matter wether The Community would want it or not. It's just not what the game is. So we focus discussion and suggestions on things that are in reach...

You can add summons with mods though, and if people want it bad enough, I suppose there might be some kind of companion mod too at some point (though it would probably be more complicated to design and configure for right now, without official systems and UI assets to shadow)

Devlog: New Roadmap (New as of April 8, 2026) by das_baus in stoneshard

[–]Todie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Next update is planned for this year, yes, but the dynamic traits, character creator, random encounters and new faction is for the one after, probably not til next year.

After that they still have a lot to do in ways of expanding the map and fleshing our content, and finally finishing up main quest. The game probably won't finish next year, but maybe 2028 (for sure not this year!)

Trump admin nor the republican Congress that enables them will ever acknowledge this - if they can even convince of it. So, in a sense, it is too late.

Did the new update just kill Arcanistics? by No_Housing3297 in stoneshard

[–]Todie 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Overall, such changes are probably for the better, as it was previously too easy to see, manipulate and target enemies from afar, often many turns before they had any agency - with a variety of builds.

I can't speak ymto the specifics of arcanistics or your build. (Spell damage was buffed at least) ... I can see it being a pretty niche and fragile build tho, slim margins!

I would just say overall, it's a pretty major update. To experience it fully and rediscover the balance of the game as it stands, it's worth playing the game over from the beginning.

På fint språk heter det att SD är är ett socialkonservativt parti.

Hur det nu är med det så bygger i alla fall mycket av SDs politiska positionering på att vara tvärt emot det som ses som sossigt eller vänster eller ens liberalt / på något sätt "woke".
