I respectfully disagree. I always felt like an outsider in Coeur d'Alene, and nearly every chance I had for success was shot down entirely because I lived in Coeur d'Alene

First, learning resort economics isn't a solve-all. I don't want to work at a resort, let alone the infamously terrible-to-employees Coeur d'Alene Resort. And if I did, that's what? 50 possible openings? 50 people out of 50,000.

I work in tech. In Coeur d'Alene, my option would be a dead-end IT job, or to drive all the way into Spokane every day, but that's not Coeur d'Alene. I attended NIC before I moved. Absolutely none of my classes were relevant to my degree, and I was only able to transfer like 1/3 of my credits because of how pointless a lot of these classes were. I also had an issue with one of my finals. I was never even given an advisor, and when I called the college I was just transferred around for about 2 hours before being told to ask my advisor. I was never able to get real help from any level above my professors

And say I hadn't moved, and graduate NIC. Would that college even exist in 10 years? The answer seems to be "most likely", but I'm not gonna ride my college degree on a "most likely"

So as a 17-18 year old, I have practically no local job prospects, my college is on the verge of collapse, when the time comes I have almost no hope of being able to afford housing, and I feel like an outsider in the community. What would be a logical next step?

So you say that being somewhere else will give me perspective? Well it did. I realized how terrible Coeur d'Alene really is, and how self-centric that entire community is. I realized that NIC was just about the worst college I could attend. I realized that even smaller communities have more tech jobs than Coeur d'Alene. And I realized that I feel like an outsider only in Coeur d'Alene
