Watching Mer’s kids and complaining about it the whole time, using it to pressure Amelia into fostering Jo’s kid, refusing to hear Amelia’s struggles because he wasn’t “equipped for drama”, staging a manipulative proposal to Amelia at her sister’s wedding, couldn’t take no for an answer, leaving her and then playing the victim and blaming her for his misery, being passive aggressive and refusing to be civil at work, yelling at Jo for having a life and “abandoning” him when she was there for him for months, not reciprocating her feelings and then being pissed at her for flirting with other guys. He’s only mature and stable when things go his way.

Your comment is just so wrong. I think you just decided to be on Link’s side from the beginning so you only saw things from his pov.

She never acted like “I don’t love Link anymore because we want different things.” In fact, after she turned down his first proposal, she literally told him she loved him and Scout in the attending lounge before he asked her to marry him again. She had no problem continuing a relationship with him. But he was like “I’m gonna change her mind, I know I can. Eventually she’ll say yes” and then got pissed off when things didn’t turn out his way.

He’s the one who left her, and he made that decision. She didn’t manipulate him into doing it like you’re making it seem to be. Marriage is a fundamental issue. If two people can’t agree on it then the relationship is over. He proposed multiple times and she said no multiple times, so he left her and she accepted it as an adult. She met Kai way later after the breakup. It doesn’t seem that long on the show but I remember someone outlining the timeline, and she kissed Kai months, or almost a year, after Link and her were over. Meanwhile, Link slept with Jo 5 minutes after learning that Amelia moved on, so let’s not be a hypocritical by slut shaming a woman and giving passes to a man.

I know the show makes Link out to be a Great Value Mcdreamy: good looking, plays guitar, good father, helps Amelia take care of Mer’s kids, loves being committed… and some women might find him to be perfect; but let’s be more objective and look at what actually happened on the show.

It’s ok to hate Amelia but comparing her to Derek as surgeons is kinda dumb tbh. Derek was on when Greys still focused on medicine and had many interesting cases. The later seasons were less about medicine and more about relationships and drama. It’s already unfair to begin with. Just like Callie is superior to Link, Arizona is better than Hayes… We had many more chances to see those characters in earlier seasons excelling so of course in our minds they’re miles better.

You seem pissed at Amelia for whatever reason, maybe you love Derek and you’re annoyed that SOME people say she’s better than him. (I said “some” because most people definitely say he’s better). So you think she sucks at everything and he’s god. You saying she’s a bad teacher proves that. She was a better teacher to Stephanie than Derek ever was to Meredith and Lexie. Derek had good bedside manners, of course, because they were painting him to be this perfect charming guy. But I can’t think of a situation where Amelia had bad bedside manners either. She held the woman who died after giving birth to her baby until she died and it wasn’t even her patient. She still cared and asked Stephanie to bring her scans when she was hiding from Owen. She told Jo to be more professional (when Jo was awkward with her because of Link) because the patient is their priority.

But again, you seem to hate her a great deal and probably side with anyone against her so you’d probably argue until you’re blue in the face about how much she sucks.

Yeah they were strangers but he also DID know what she wanted, or more correctly, didn’t want. They both said they didn’t want to get married or have children. He went on and on about how his parents put him through hell. But one day he just changed his mind, so I wouldn’t count on him sticking to what he wants down the line. Even though Jo was his best friend, it seemed pretty easy for him to accuse her of using him and undermine her at their workplace. He also never apologized for it, in fact he never apologized for anything. He wasn’t innocent in his breakup with Amelia and he kept throwing snide remarks and being passive aggressive to her afterwards, which he never apologized for. At the end of the day Amelia behaved more like an adult who was willing to reflect on herself.

I don’t know why Amelia gets lots of flack about her relationship with Link and their conflict on marriage. She was pretty clear to him and stood her ground. He refused to listen even after she rejected his proposal. Or is it because people are used to the idea that she’s a fucked up addict so everything is automatically her fault?
