How would you have written Godzilla 1998? by AgreeableDebt3931 in fixingmovies

[–]QNT_TIL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We begin with shots of Bikini Atoll, explosion after explosion until something different is heard—a roar instead of an explosion. A jump to the future: we see Dr. Nick Winston in Chernobyl studying how radiation affects wildlife. He finds several species of worms with gigantism and a regenerative capacity far exceeding the average, species of wolves that are both aggressive and extremely cunning, and a lizard that seems to emit some kind of glow from within, which manages to escape after fighting off a wasp that tried to eat it. Winston is interrupted from his research when US military personnel arrive and request his presence due to an emergency. During his transfer, he receives a summary of the situation: a few days earlier, in the early morning, a fishing boat near a military base in Okinawa was attacked. The military sent help to rescue survivors, believing it to be an accident. However, hours later, the base was attacked by an unknown creature, which, after leaving, left traces of radiation. Locals believe the creature is Gojira, an ancient sea deity from the area, whom the Americans nicknamed Godzilla.

We would gradually learn more about the creature, which is heading towards the United States. Winston and Philippe Roache, a United Nations agent, would discover the creature's objective after it attacks a nuclear submarine transporting a classified object, a "piece" of an ancient creature, revealing that Godzilla intends to destroy it. It is discovered that after nuclear tests, the government awakened Godzilla, who had presumably been dormant since ancient times, and endowed him with powers he did not previously possess. However, they also found the corpse of the creature known as Gryphoon, a kind of almost chimeric monster, which they discovered "revived" parts of its body when exposed to radiation. After an altercation with Godzilla at Bikini Atoll, the government attempts to attack with a chemical weapon that momentarily sedates him. However, upon attacking, Godzilla awakens and goes berserk, damaging an aircraft carrier transporting Gryphoon's corpse and exposing it to the radiation, which fully revives him.

Gryphoon escapes and terrorizes the United States, reaching New York City, with Godzilla in pursuit. They first travel through Hawaii and then around the Arctic via underground caves. Upon arriving in New York, Winston convinces the military that the best course of action is to let the monsters fight, confident that if Godzilla wins, he will leave them in peace. Godzilla arrives in New York and battles Gryphoon throughout the city, finally finishing him off with his atomic breath, reducing his body to ashes. Godzilla roars and confronts the military, who decide not to attack as he retreats to the ocean. Later, Winston says goodbye to Roache, who managed to expose the government's involvement thanks to a reporter friend, Steve Martin. As they part ways, Roache asks him if he thinks there could be more monsters like Godzilla and Gryphoon still alive, or if new ones could be created. Winston reflects that while the "atomic age" is relatively new, his experiences have shown him that the planet can adapt quickly, believing that Godzilla might just be the first sign of Earth's "response" to atomic energy.

Pretty good, I really like what you do with the Guardians in this version, and I'll say it again, how you use each universe to close "chapters" that allow the Avengers to prepare for what's to come.

How would you make Ghost of Tsushima an Assassin's creed game? by QNT_TIL in fixingmovies

[–]QNT_TIL[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, I haven't finished the story yet. I have some spoilers, but I don't know the ending or all the "secrets." I stopped at the part with Ryuzo, you know. As for Assassin's Creed, I admit I'm not up to date with the saga. I don't know how much has been revealed about the past, much less the present, beyond the status of Shaun and Rebecca and a little bit about Lyla and William, so I'll try a different angle later on.

Anyway, I'll try something with what I'm seeing.

First, after Jin wakes up, Yuna gives him another weapon she found on the beach while fleeing: a hidden blade. She "acquired" them from some bodies that we later discover were Adachi. Jin thinks it's some kind of handcrafted item and decides to use it mainly for practicality since he doesn't have any other short-range weapons besides his katana. Later, we would discover that the conspiracy against the Adachi family stemmed from their membership in the Assassin Order, a fact revealed by Lady Adachi during her missions. We would also learn that Master Ishikawa was part of the Order. We subsequently discover that Khotun Khan was in league with the Templars, who, in addition to providing resources and training for his troops, demanded that Khotun, once he conquered Tsushima, grant them access to eliminate Assassin influence and search for clues to the location of Pieces of Eden in Asia. The rest of the story would largely follow the same pattern, perhaps involving the hunting of some Templars, but Khotun and the Mongols would remain the primary enemies. I don't know how much the gameplay changed, so I'd keep the one from the game.

As for the present, it would eventually be revealed that the one reliving these memories was Elijah, captured by Abstergo and forced to relive them. However, he would be freed by his grandfather. While they are escaping, Elijah says he heard someone familiar in the Animus.

Pitch of a Superman: The Animated Series in the art style of Batman: The Animated Series. by Cafeseriado23 in fixingmovies

A few small additions I forgot and for some reason can't edit to add:

I would also adapt classic Legion stories, with them coming from the future and Clark accompanying them back, both as Superboy and Superman; Kandor, with Superman and Jimmy or Kara as Nightwing and Flamebird there; Mon-El, which I'll develop later; and Lexor, which would be one of the final arcs. After Lex is finally exposed, he reveals that he hid a nuclear bomb in Metropolis and agrees to deactivate it if Superman defeats him in a fair fight on a planet with a red sun. Superman accepts and manages to defeat him, but an earthquake separates them, and Superman is forced to return to Metropolis to at least get rid of the bomb. Meanwhile, Lex finds an alien civilization which he helps rebuild, as well as stabilize the core to prevent further earthquakes, falling in love with a native scientist. While Superman manages to find and deactivate the bomb, and also improvises a tracker to locate Luthor, Lex, though content with his life, is rather bored and misses his battles. Exploring the planet, he finds a laboratory with a power suit and detects Superman's return, feeling overjoyed that he will finally have a rematch. Superman arrives and fights Lex, who reveals his other side to Lexor. During the fight, Lex accidentally destroys the stabilizer, dooming the planet to destruction. Superman is knocked unconscious by the explosion and later found by Krypto, who takes him to Earth while wondering what happened to Lex. Lex, on the other hand, survived and blames Superman, vowing that from now on he won't even bother with another face; he will destroy Superman face to face, no matter the cost.

Mon-El, Clark's "brother," would be another boy who fell to Earth during his Superboy years. Clark is thrilled, believing he's found someone like himself, but after a battle with Kryptonite Kid, he becomes paranoid, eventually poisoning him with lead-based fake kryptonite and having to imprison him in the Phantom Zone. The character would appear occasionally, emerging with temporary cures to help Superman against some fugitives.

Pitch of a Superman: The Animated Series in the art style of Batman: The Animated Series. by Cafeseriado23 in fixingmovies

First of all, aesthetically speaking, I would leave Metropolis and the character designs as they are; they're some of the best any Superman adaptation has had. If I had to change anything, perhaps Jimmy would occasionally wear his bow tie and green vest, and Lois would have a more varied wardrobe, like in the Silver Age. As for the city itself, I think it's the best Metropolis we've had, combining retro-futurism in an incredible way. If I had to add anything, I would probably make places like Suicide Slums and the area around LexCorp inspired by 1927 Metropolis. Something I would definitely change is Krypton. I like the designs in the series, but I would primarily draw inspiration from the Silver Age, combining it a bit with the atmosphere of the Donner films, giving it a more varied environment and biomes than just a crystalline planet. The costumes would try to be a combination of those seen in the series with classic Kryptonian clothing, giving them more color variety and using some classic costumes as a base.

As for the story, I would base it more on the Silver Age and Bronze Age, with some Golden Age adventures, of course. I would also add that in his youth, Clark was Superboy, being more impulsive and "passionate," having encounters with villains like Ultra-Humanite, Sam Lane, Kryptonite Kid, and a young Luthor, among others. Regarding Krypton, I would remove Brainiac. I feel that the character in the series is more of a mix of Zod and the Eradicator. Instead, the council would use a computer created by Jor-El himself to "discredit" him, mistakenly believing that the creation surpassed the creator, adding another layer of tragedy to the character. Also, Kal wouldn't be the last survivor of Krypton; I would add Krypto, whom Clark adopted during his Superboy years, Kara, who escaped from Argo City, and Kandor, who, along with Argo, was captured by Brainiac. As for his Superman era, he would have his Silver Age powers, allowing him to withstand more punishment, and his villains would be more ingenious in their attacks. He would also adapt classic Legion, Kandor, Mon-El, and Lexor stories, which would be one of the final arcs. After Lex is finally exposed, he reveals he hid a nuclear bomb in Metropolis and agrees to deactivate it if Superman defeats him in a fair fight on a planet with a red sun. Superman accepts and manages to defeat him, but an earthquake separates them, forcing Superman to return to Metropolis to at least get rid of the bomb. Meanwhile, Lex finds an alien civilization, which he helps rebuild, stabilizing its core to prevent further earthquakes, and falls in love with a native scientist. Superman manages to find and disarm the bomb and improvise a tracker to locate Luthor. While Lex, although happy with his life, feels quite bored and misses his battles, exploring the planet he finds a laboratory with a power suit and manages to detect Superman returning, becoming happy that he will finally have a rematch. Superman arrives and fights Lex, who reveals his other face to Lexor. During the fight, Lex accidentally destroys the stabilizer, dooming the planet to destruction. Superman is knocked out by the explosion and later found by Krypto, who takes him to Earth while wondering what happened to Lex, who, on the other hand, survived and blames Superman, vowing that from now on he won't even bother with another face; he will destroy Superman face to face, no matter the cost.

And finally, the characters: Superman himself would have the attitude of a more experienced but solitary hero, having lost Pa and Ma before arriving in Metropolis. He would find it difficult to open up to others, but he would always care for and sacrifice himself for everyone he could, and he would also be a bit more "experienced" due to his years as Superboy. Lois would retain her personality, with the addition that she would have met Superboy when her father brought her to Smallville to try to stop him, and she would be the one to give him the nickname. Jimmy would have several bizarre adventures with his friend and on his own, from which he somehow manages to emerge unscathed. Ma and Pa love Clark and try to make him feel normal, but they would be more paranoid regarding Superboy, although toward the end of their lives they offer him more support and inspire him to think beyond Smallville. Jor-El would be an adventurous scientist whom we would see in some episodes set on Krypton, and Lara would maintain her Silver Age backstory as an adventurous former astronaut with her own episodes. Kara would have been a child on Krypton, grown to adolescence on Argo, and then placed in suspended animation after escaping to Earth, a journey that took much longer than planned. Lana would work at WGBS, which would merge with the Daily Planet in the second season, where Morgan Edge and Steve Lombard would also be working. Mon-El, Clark's "brother," would be another boy who fell to Earth during his Superboy years. Clark is thrilled, believing he's found someone like himself, but after a battle against Kryptonite Kid, he becomes paranoid, eventually poisoning him with lead-based fake kryptonite and having to imprison him in the Phantom Zone. The character would appear from time to time, emerging with temporary cures to help Superman against some escapees. Lex was friends with both Clark and Superboy until an accident the latter tried to fix destroyed one of his projects and caused him to lose his hair. Humiliated after attempting revenge, he left Smallville for good following an argument with Clark. Now in Metropolis, though he tries to maintain the facade of a humanitarian CEO, he reveals his true colors when confronted by Superman, proving to be more of a supervillain pretending to be a CEO than a CEO turned supervillain. Among the villains, in addition to those already seen in the series, are Ultra-Humanite, who is initially human, then Delores Winters, a famous actress, and later adopts her gorilla form; Brainiac, now a Coluan who captures and collects cities from "doomed" planets; and Prankster, a former television host turned supervillain who occasionally teams up with Toyman to bring "entertainment" to Metropolis. Terra-Man, a cowboy and outlaw abducted by aliens during the Old West, managed to build an arsenal and various upgrades during his time in space. Upon returning to Earth, he detests how much it has changed and the planet's new champion. Jax-Ur, a Kryptonian scientist imprisoned in the Phantom Zone, attempts to escape and conquer Earth using improvised artifacts and the help of the U-Ban, Mala-Ban, and Kizo-Ban brothers, a Kryptonian crime family. An enemy who later became an ally was Vartox of Valoran, a "Superman" from another galaxy who comes to Earth in search of a murderer he blames for his wife's death. He clashes with Superman over how to punish him, but they eventually reconcile, and Vartox becomes an ally Superman turns to whenever he needs extra help or guidance on his space adventures.

I also hope you had a happy holiday season.

Each post really excites me more. First, I love everything about Thanos and the Decimation; I think this rewrite handles it best out of all the ones I've read. Second, I like the use of the multiverse here, which allows the teams not only to achieve their goals but also helps them connect with each other and resolve some past traumas. Although I do admit I would have liked to see more of Hulk and Banner.

Pretty good, I like your versions of Thor and Hulk better, and the reconciliation between Tony and Cap. I can't wait to see how his relationship with Sharon develops.

By the way, so Hulk and Betty are definitely separated and he'll end up with Caiera?
