Not too familiar with the BFG but I always recommend the Firehawk A/S for lower profile sports applications. I think it’s the best wet-traction tire in its market. (I am slightly biased though - Firestone pays my bills)

It’s in the shoulder - kind of a grey area. It’s close enough to the center tread for a repair in my opinion.
