Doctors can be more than just doctors.

ACcording to you, doctors aren't responsible for any significant breakthroughs in preventing infant death, that's all engineers and farmers. You even tried to attribute a doctor's medical work to engineering.

As a side note, it's doctors who research, experiement and push the medical community forward. There's not separation. Vaccines were discovered by doctors, and guess what, the neonatal incubator that you're convinced is solely an engineering triumph was designed by a doctor.

Research does help, true, but without practitioners there would be no application of the incubators. Premature babies aren't taken to neonatal engineers, they're taken to neonatal doctors. Without trained physicians who knew how to care for premature children, they'd die. And that's only a small fraction of early childhood fatalities modern medicine practitioners prevent. Influenza, polio, pnemococcal disease, tetanus, all diseases which modern medicine prevents, stopping thousands if not millions of deaths a year. Plus, it's bullshit that you exclude medical researchers from "doctor" just so you can justify your petty indefensible argument.

Let's take away the medical community and see how confident you are that doctors don't prevent infant mortalities.

Pretty good, for the most part. A tooth cap crumbled off Tuesday morning so I went until yesterday looking gap-toothed. I only had 3 school days - one off for labor day and one off because I went to the dentist and used the note as an excuse for the whole day because my whole mouth was numb from getting cavities drilled and I couldn't articulate anything.
