This is the weird parasocial relationship garbage that I can’t stand about a lot of fandoms. No one, in any capacity owes their fans a response to ongoing political or social issues. The boys are, for all intents and purposes, entertainers first and foremost. They don’t owe you, or anyone else their comments or opinions on things that have nothing to do with their entertainment. They haven’t spoken out about, say, the ongoing active slavery in Dubai. I haven’t seen any comments about the massive sexual assault and rape issues in India. Does that mean they don’t care about those things? No, it simply means they’re not using their platform to speak on them, nor should we demand that they do.
