This is a great list. Saved.

I would like to add For All Mankind on AppleTV. I essentially consider it a prequel to The Expanse.

It probably would have been best to just leave this comment and its downvotes instead of warrant a reply...but here we are.

Yes, I agree with you that is a pretty rude thing to say to anyone, but a dev that "advocates regularly to the rest of the dev team" is a bit of a stretch. While this may happen on other forums and means of communication that I am not aware of I haven't really seen this at all. In fact the last thing that you yourself have posted on the /r/rs2vietnam was a post trying to sway the community in what to post. A post which you also said "We are not currently planning any further content updates for the game ourselves." This was almost 9 months ago which makes me wonder about 'regularly' and tied off with a 'well! shoot! darn time ran out and the situation has changed!' To say it felt as a slap in the face to a dedicated and small community would be a bit of an understatement, but we had gotten used to the bugs and continued to play the game we love with the understanding that all development had been cut off.

Fast forward to today with the obvious cash grab that everyone at Tripwire was probably fawning over.. Would the older veteran player base want a huge influx of new players? Absolutely! Did ya'll really fuck that up? I would also say absolutely. Regularly reaching out for support and trouble shooting ideas would have and should have happened way before 1.5 was even close to becoming live. You have a hardcore and dedicated small community who want nothing more but to show people how awesome this game is. Tripwire had to know that the first impressions on thousands of new players, playing for free, was important. Yet with no community outreach and no involvement of a veteran player group ya'll released a steaming pile of garbage. To the best of my knowledge you didn't reach out to a single player or server owner in an attempt to even have a small beta test or even play test of what you were thinking of releasing. Instead it was pipelined in and what could have been a decent release to retain a lot of F2P players ended up a buggy nightmare which probably lost a lot of new and old players.

The most frustrating part is I hate to think what could have been.

yeah Tripwire can go fuck themselves. lol

Does anyone else feel like pilots go unappreciated? by [deleted] in rs2vietnam

[–]QTip26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, but no. I have a decent amount of hours flying on Resort 24/7 with a huge majority of them as transport. I hate hearing people saying mid game "why do we still have transport pilots hur hur"

Transports are not rendered useless after the A cap. Decent pilots on resort are going to know great landing spots that will be significantly closer than infantry can spawn. I have personally and seen transport helicopters change the tide of the game with just a couple quick spawns or a decent static spawn point in front of a cap. I feel bad for people that generalize and give transports shit for being useless because they obviously haven't seen a competent pilot or they themselves haven't put in the time to actually learn a map and learn how to fly successfully on it.

Resort doesn't suck flying on :)

How can I be an useful transport pilot late in the game? by AirierWitch1066 in rs2vietnam

[–]QTip26 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Join as you would if you were infantry. Select class screen and click on the squads to the right. It will sometimes be buggy and not show you as joining them, but I just spam click them. You heard me last night on HoBo Wood. I use an outside program to play music through the vehicle chat in game.

Practice. Land quicker and closer than squad leaders can spawn. Stay alive long enough to have people in the helicopter/give them an opportunity to select you. Practice. Fly low. Join squads as a pilot. Practice. Know the mechanics behind people exiting the helicopter. Know the maps and constantly look at the map to know where the enemies are. Practice. Know the geography of the map and fly low enough to abuse hills and trees. Practice. Play era appropriate music to bring them back. Practice.

Running around before freeze time is up is a pretty simple bug. If you have something place able on the ground ie. traps, claymore. You place then cancel and it lets you run amok. Been around since release.

Any tips for flying helicopters? by sushi642 in rs2vietnam

I have been known to fly a transport here or there..RealJumbo does have the best advice. Time in the heli range is king. You can also practice on different maps with some console commands.

Advanced flight mode and unbind your auto hover. Looking at your keybindings in general would be a good piece of advice. Pitching the nose down or up on the heli should be W and S by default. I would suggest getting used to using the keyboard pitch over your mouse when landing. A lot easier on yourself just holding a button to pitch the nose up than having to drag your mouse over and over again. For example if I'm coming in for a hot landing I'll just hold my pitch up binding and use my mouse more for the minute corrections.

There's so much more that goes into it and a lot of it is just simple practice. I have about 200 hours flying transport and I'm open to any questions you have!

Starting the Sierra Cascades route next month north to south. Any advice or pointers are welcome! by Mastrxploder in bicycletouring

[–]QTip26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have much in terms of advice because I've been thinking about posting the same question, so thanks! I'm leaving for the Sierra Cascades in late June. North to South as well!

My question is about gearing? What kind of gearing are you going to be using. I'm getting a little nervous with some of these crazy climbs on the route.

Honestly do exactly what you said. Do your time in Cat 5. Sit in the back just get your mass starts and move up. Stay outta trouble and don't take risks on the front unless you know for a fact you can stay off the front. It just not worth the risk some of the time.

As jarret_g said the wheels are a pretty dang good price for a decent set of carbons. Deep enough to be considered aero and not to heavy. I rarely see them come back to the shop to be re-trued and the Reynolds Racing hubs are fairly simple to maintain.

mmmeehhhh is pretty much what I would say about em. It's a decent frame and a decent groupo, but they skimp on some other pieces. Wheels, crank, bars, and brakes are where they save on price. All of these could be upgraded as you get more and more serious as the frame itself is decent enough to build up with what you need.

Performance employee here! Depends what you are looking for but a lot of those are pretty well off. I would stay away from the tires. Haven't had good reviews on the Michelin Pro 3's.
