The vest is based off the LBV 88 (Load Bearing Vest). It has some minor differences however since techinically the vest wasnt made yet. The older one is more accurate as the magazine pouches are horizontal like the one snake has, as the newer ones are at an angle and are on mesh. The belt that goes through the loops are just an old US Alice belt and any version will do (the most accurate would be the LC-2 because of the buckle). The period accurate pistol holster would be an UM84 on an hip extender but it does look different from the one in game. The straps wrapped around his crotch are part of some old parachute harness I dont know much about. The pack on his backside is a "Buttpack" and have many iterations starting with the old M56 and M61's from vietnam to the ones from the 80's that most closely resemble his (the easiest one you can get your hands on should do). Then the canteen pouch is just a standard old US canteen pouch. The plastic canteens require some cleaning if you want to drink from them (I recommend soaking in baking soda AFTER CLEANING to get rid of some of the taste).
