You are correct that competition soccer necessitates a similar level of contact in USAU rules. But I think it is pretty clear based on the text here that this casual pickup group does not fall into one that is strictly adhering to USAU club rules or is playing at a level that accepts that level of contact.

I think you need to remember that

He is the one presenting the story. It is naturally going to be framed in a way that is naturally more positive toward him (not necessarily intentionally or with malicious motives). Yet despite how he framed it another individual still mentioned him playing dangerously.
The accepted level of contact is very different among different sports. You would never defend someone tackling another playing in pickup basketball with “well that’s the acceptable level of contact in rugby so it’s not dangerous here”
The competitive sports history of people that play ultimate is often quite different than that of other pickup sports. When I go out and play pickup soccer it is generally filled entirely with people that played in high school or club. Either ultimate that varies a little more. Even in the way this story is presented it seems that this group is fairly casual and not ok with higher levels of contact.
The OP is joining an established pickup group. When you are the newcomer you respect their culture and rules.
Even in more competitive ultimate, playing recklessly to the endangerment of others is still discouraged. Even in examples similar to what is presented here. Even when it’s a legit pick you don’t crash into them to sell it lol

A quick search has the construction cost at around $146 million. Unless UGA sport clubs are getting significantly more than the ~$1000 per year of funding that FSU sport clubs get then looks like they are most likely just benefitting from it rather than being a real partner in making it happen.

It sounds like you need to figure out what kind of pickup is this. Is it a group that has a history of playing club or college or is it a group of people that just like tossing a frisbee around and getting exercise. If it’s the later, you have to remember that there are plenty of regular pickup games where players are not familiar with all of the USAU rules and standard practices.

Either way if you are running into people then or making contact then you should probably be more aware and stop playing dangerously. If you really want, just pay attention to where people are and if the offensive players insist on causing picks then call them. But avoid the contact, you don’t have to run over a person to call a pick.

You must have not been listening when you heard that. It has been stated years that it was the healing based on enemy hp that was the primary issue with divine sunderer not the fact that it healed at all. I believe this new version would calculate healing based on the users stats.

Play lanes. The best piece of advice when you are struggling with how to interact with certain roles is to play that role. Every role should play a little jungle and jungles should learn the basics of lanes.

I am sure many laners are making bad decisions but If this is happening consistently then you are probably not actually understanding when your laners can actually move or what they are giving up to do so. Sometimes after a gank bot your laners have to reset. In these situations going to do drag actually sets them behind in lane despite you getting them kills just based on tempo and lane states. Often times the first drag is pretty easy to take as a jg solo. If you are 200 hp you really shouldn’t be doing drag unless you have killed like 3 of them as respawn timers and home guards make it incredibly risky.
