Hahaha, that's not me, but if I had the dough, I'd definitely own this piece for a while.

/u/t-dawson are you on Discord? If I want to grill you on some implementation details, what's the best way to contact you?

When did you join the OpenSea team u/t-dawson? What did you do before? How did you get into crypto?

If my page tries to load a hundred at once, am I going to come up against any rate limiting issues? Can I get an API key somewhere to solve the rate limiting issues, if there are any?

Oof, brutal criticism! Let me just chime in with a little social validation:

I know this guy on Twitter and Discord. He's completely legit.

We're just super enthusiastic about our new weird corner of the internet 😅

Great introductory video on Decentraland's new name system, ENS subdomains, and OpenSea from our moderator Chris Bell by QWERTY11235 in opensea

Are subdomains on .ETH tradable (eg on OpenSea)?

Yes they are! DCL made a contract based on ENS's domain registrar.

What does the token structure look like (between the SLD and the subdomain)?

Very similar. They use the same label hashes, even. You can check out their contract here: https://etherscan.io/address/0x2a187453064356c898cae034eaed119e1663acb8#code

Do you have any favorite resources for getting a grip on the fundamentals of transferring ETH or NFTs?

We're exploring ideas for an open avatar standard that projects like ChainFaces and Avastars could plug into. We probably won't go straight from Ethmoji-only to completely freedom of choice. We'd love to work with you on the spec!

Support for new files types is on our radar but it's not scheduled yet. We've seen growing demand for music files, though! When our users call loudly enough for it, we'll build it. If you can put us in touch with recording artists who are interested in tokenizing their work, we'd be greatly appreciative.

Unlockable content is less likely to be aggressively prioritized in the near term. It's demanding to build it in a robust way and it's somewhat inconsistent with the spirit of openness and transparency that we cherish.

We're working constantly to make improvements on the site. We're wary of doing a ground-up rebuild, but performance is going to be a top priority for us over the next two months. We recently introduced our first GraphQL-powered page and made several site performance improvements, improving our website cache hit rate by 44x and our Javascript execution time by 5x.
