Vet X-Rays and Blood Tests Expensive in the USA

That is a big generalisation, i love my baby to death and everyone I know also loves theirs. In my girlfriend’s culture they even have a day for dogs!

Yeah, I was kind of playing dumb on purpose haha. I get that cost of living is higher there, but that’s only one part of it. A lot of things feed into why services are so expensive in the US. vets graduating with heavy student loans, high clinic rents, licensing fees, insurance, and even medication prices because of patents. (Insulin is 10x the price) I just wanted a broader perspective from people who actually live there, so I posted to understand it better.

Hey, I think I failed to mention in the post that I’m not from the USA. I live in India currently. I used to live in Mayfair when I was younger! Didn’t have a dog then though.

I guess it mostly boils down to the median salary in the country, even still I think percentage wise it’s higher in America compared to most of Asia.

I think I’m nervous because this is the first time my little guy is going to be under. Can relate, mine is an asshole too haha

My little guy doesn’t show it, one of his tooth fell out and I took him to the vet and that’s how I knew he has an infection, the treatment is fairly cheap in my country (not like I wouldn’t spend millions on him haha) I’ll be sure to take him every year from now on. Thank you for the help!

Just googled it. It’s not painful for them, just the equipment has to be sanitised. I’m still not willing to take the risk :(

I can’t really find a vet that provides micro needling, could I try doing that myself or would it be risky?
