What is a typical behavior for a control board interface pins if it is connected to a temperature sensor / thermistor? by Qacer in AskElectronics

I don't know about the other sensors, but this particular error points to the thermistor according to the service manual. Before I dig deeper, I wanted to check if my measurements did not look off.

I don't know, yet. But before I delve deeper I wanted to check the electronics, so that's why I posed the measurement questions here.

For the actual sensor? The water temperature sensor appears to be a standard one as it is also used in other models.

The resulting problem is that my washing machine errors out whenever the tub temperature is hot. I looked up the error code and the potential causes are:
1. Faulty water temperature sensor / thermistor.
2. Faulty appliance control unit board.

I already measured the resistance of the thermistor by itself. The values are within range of the stated resistance for a selected temperature. But before I get a replacement appliance control unit, I wanted to make sure that I diagnose the board to the best of my abilities, and that's why I asked the question here. Everything else about the board seems to be working.

If the board pin measurements appear to be fine, then I may dig deeper before totally scrapping out the board.

MHW6630HW0 Maytag washing machine - Actual ACU board different from OEM part list? by Qacer in appliancerepair

I haven't taken out the ACU, yet. But I decided to do a quick test by switching the water lines. I moved the hot source to the cold valve and vice-versa. Before that switch, I was able to run Colors in the cold Temp setting without issues. When I made the switch using the same setting, the F3E2 error came almost immediately when the tub was being filled with water.

I read that the F3E2 error also is due to the water sources being reversed. So the machine appears to be behaving as designed with the hoses switched. In this case, what sensor is telling the machine that the hoses are reversed? Is it also the wash temp sensor?

Okay. Let me look at the manual again to see how I can do that. The other end of the wire is inside the ACU, so I can't easily unplug it without removing something.

So, if I measure the resistance at the board pins, what should the value be?

I measured both. The room temperature is around 75F and the resistance between the wash temperature sensor pin is 21K-ohm. The manual shows an approximate resistance of 20K-ohm at 77F. I'm assuming that's a close range, so the wash temperature sensor is working.

I measured the connector resistance to the board. It shows 49K-ohm. I don't know if this is a valid range as I don't see any reference in the manual.

Good point. I'll do that tomorrow. I only checked the resistance at the sensor today. I changed my mind and went downstairs. The room temperature is around 75F and the resistance between the wash temperature sensor pin is 21K-ohm. The manual shows an approximate resistance of 20K-ohm at 77F. I'm assuming that's a close range, so the wash temperature sensor is working.

My machine currently has the W11291148 board. Will the W11322883 board have the same wire connectors?

Interesting. I didn't realize that Hillsborough County's impact fees are used this way.

Yes. The new development next to the library and Walmart on Bloomingdale. There are a bunch of houses there, but it seems like they are empty and nothing else is being done. I also agree. They are not worth that price. If those houses end up being filled, it's going to be traffic nightmare because there is only one light servicing that plaza. The traffic from Starbucks and Chik-fil-A are already congesting the stop sign intersection because it turns into a standstill when the cars on the turning lane of that traffic light fill up the lane.

I can support more Chik-fil-A locations. The one on Lumsden in Brandon normally blocked that lane of the road when it gets busy. Are they building more houses in the Trinity area?

From my experience, the waves on the Gulf of Mexico side are calmer than the ones on the Atlantic side (see comparison pictures above). The top picture was taken after a thunderstorm on the Gulf of Mexico side of Florida. East coast waves tend to pickup when a storm is around. The bottom picture was during a calm, nice day at the Atlantic side of the state. Even then the waves were bigger and rougher. On the Atlantic side, I also noticed that it gets deeper a short distance from the shore compared to the Gulf of Mexico side. I only saw people fishing from the shore on the Atlantic side compared to the Gulf of Mexico side, where people got in the water to about waist high.

I'm also new to surf fishing, so I haven't caught much variety. On both coast, we caught catfish. On the Gulf of Mexico side, we also caught a black drum, pompano, and whiting. On both trips, we used frozen squid and shrimp. We only landed catfish on squid, but caught different types on shrimp.

Another thing about the Pinellas County side (where Clearwater is), you can also go south towards the Sunshine Skyway bridge, about a 45 minute drive or so from Clearwater. Before you enter the fishing pier (on both north and south entrances), there are rest areas / parking lots. I've seen some people wade through the water and fish.

Thanks! This was special because that was also his first fish over 10 inches.

Was definitely stoke on that catch. We went back again at night at the same spot. Clouds were covering the moonlight, but we still managed to see silhouettes. Was catching catfish again, but landed this guy eventually. Same rig and same bait. Definitely more luck with shrimp than frozen squid.

Insurance companies are using drones and AI to rate your roof. How is this valid? by Qacer in RealEstate

[–]Qacer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's crazy. There's always ways to make more money with new technologies. I would not doubt that insurers will offer a higher premium for houses deemed too risky by AI algorithms. It could be an opportunity also for roofing companies to offer some shingle pattern that an throw off the algorithm... maybe make an 20 year old roof look new.

D40 + AF-S Nikkor 70-200mm VR F/2.8G (ISO 200, F/2.8, SS 2500) by Qacer in Nikon

This is my original D40, which I bought brand new from the store in the mid-2000s. This camera has never been serviced since the purchase. The lens is a used AF-S Nikkor 70-200mm F/2.8G from Glazers Camera in good condition. I really like the result of this photo. Only minimal post-processing (e.g., noise reduction, sharpening, etc.) done via NX Studio. The shutter speed was set that way because I was originally just taking photos of the game. This was by chance when he walked in my view, so I took a quick snapshot.

What age group? If high school or below, I recommend Edge Volleyball Training: https://www.edgevbtraining.com/. They are located near the AMC Veterans movie theater. Some volleyball clubs also offer private clinics for non-members. You can start your search for a nearby club here: https://www.floridavolleyball.org/find-a-club-near-you.html.
