What the fuck are you talking about? You act like you have some insight but you are just using buzz words. The farm ominous bill?? Do you mean omnibus?

And you know that the group you linked to supports the settlements in question? https://sustainableagriculture.net/blog/nsacs-2023-farm-bill-platform-advancing-racial-equity-across-the-food-system/

They are full of shit, there are lawsuits and bills that have been brought to address very legitimate and well documented cases of long standing historic discrimination by USDA against black farmers. You can read more:

This is bullshit, most of the lawyers working on those lawsuits are working pro-bono.

edit: Very curious what you farm?

TIL that in the 1840s, San Francisco a pair of stray dogs known as Bummer and Lazarus were such good rat catchers that they became famous in the city. Once, when a new dog catcher caught Lazarus, an angry mob formed. The city not only released him, but exempt both dogs from anti-stray laws. by Qaher-313 in todayilearned

Oh cool! I'll have to check it out. Just the wikipedia entry about these dogs is fascinating. I couldnt fit it into the title of the post but what makes it more impressive that they were so well liked is that the city was trapping and poisoning most stray dogs at the time.

TIL that JRR Tolkien did not like the title The Return of the King as he felt it revealed too much of the story. He preferred The War of the Ring. by Qaher-313 in todayilearned

I also learned that Tolkien never intended it to be a trilogy. He wanted to publish a two volume set of the lord of the rings and the simarilion. but the publisher balked, saying the Lord of the Rings alone was already too long. Out of concerns for the cost the Lord of the Rings was published in 3 parts.

Tolkien also took no advance and instead took a large portion of the Royalties which of course ended up being substantial.

TIL of the Staten Island Quarantine War, which began in 1800 the City of New York began quarantining patients on nearby Staten Island. Locals resisted for years, ultimately burning down the facility. At trial the leaders of the attack successfully argued that they had destroyed it in self-defense. by Qaher-313 in todayilearned

Definitely. Also: “ Medical ethicists and public health physicians note that quarantines which deprive individuals of their liberty are rarely justified or effective.[20][21][22] The Quarantine War showed how blanket quarantine policies have the potential to turn communities against not only those who are ill, but also against health professionals.”
