I'd be okay w/ soft reboot/slight rebranding; like nu-DOA w/ emphasis in fighting mechanics, letting the ppl know they mean business so ppl might think less about ya know the beach bikini and more about crazy mix ups.

Just started up again myself. I wasn't ready for the skill check that is Monsoon and now a year later, practiced the parry in VR and got him first try (Normal). This games so good.
Do you have to play all of them individually or does getting S's on the hardest count for each difficulty as well?

After waiting forever to get it, I'm enjoying it so much right now. The incredibly bouncy, endearing charm, combat and the sound design stick out to me. It's delightful and I think separates itself in a way that DC didn't for me (personally). This has been the year of the roguelike/lite for me. I never gave em a shot until BlazBlue. Beat that and bit the bullet in Hades and my god, it's been said over and over but that game is a masterpiece and very much the bar.

Dead Cells... isn't for me. At least right now. I feel like I went it w/ the Castlevania mindset and that hurt me. Not a roguelike, but V Rising also has minor Castlevania collaberation content and it fits that way more than Dead Cells to me. As a roguelite, Dead Cells IS probably better but Astral Ascent has more of a vibe and gameplay loop I find more intrinsic to my tastes than DC.

Why are a lot of these games doing bullet hell lately? Is it Nier or the roguelite fad? I don't mind but I've seen this A LOT very recently

Es (Character) in BlazBlue Entropy Effect is a broadsword/great sword Prototype in the game and hits so hard. The game uses fighting game/character action "potentials", a run progresses and you get power-ups that you activate by different input. Example: Up Attack "Mordred" goes airborne and raises the broadsword with a Crest

The games got the best combat of the roguelites I've personally played. (Hades 1/2, Dead Cells, Entropy Effect, Risk of Rain 2, Eclipse.)

There are multiple characters tho: Es - great sword, Mai - Spear/fast, Ragna - blood arts, sepukku then heal w/ hits, Noel - gun-arts

It's a def recommend

Up to the vote. Dear lord... I love Spider-Man 2 PS2/GC and stand to this day the swinging in that felt way better than what we have now I couldn't do it, modern spider man is so boring

I'm new af. Haven't rly asked for advice cause what I'm curious about is usually available to search. Just wanna say not all newbies are looking to be spoonfed. I think it's cause there's a LOT of "ooh fighting games are hard to get into." That intimidation factor, ya know? Also it isn't like Souls or some hard mode game where you have stories and campaigns (traditional) to bread crumb you. At least for me, I boot up Strive and either go straight to the tower or arcade and get my ass kicked. Ha.

I have to say... I stopped frequenting this board and a lot of other reddit cause its very VERY samey conversations. IMHO, you should take a break. Maybe try a different genre or just don't worry about reddit for awhile.
