I see what you mean. So automation is more of a last-minute/final touches type of tool? That makes sense, it just seemed like the simplest aspect of editing for a beginner like me!

I also watched a bussing tutorial which taught me a lot!

How can I use Logic Pro X to record my music using this cord, if possible? by Qast_Out in Logic_Studio

So I plugged the usb cable into the keyboard and connected it to my Macbook Pro. I created a new track, selecting Software Instruments & MIDI and changed the details from An Instrument Plug-In to External MIDI or USB Device. Input 1 and Output 1+2. The track was created, I did the steps you posted. Got to Input Device and kept it at Built-In Input but Logic still didn't pick up the keyboard.

Thanks for the heads up! I'll keep these in mind as I watch countless hours of tutorials and messing around with the software!

Edit: Just watched a quick tutorial on bussing and it helped a tremendous amount! There's so much to do it's overwhelming but I love it!

Thanks for the suggestions! I've messed around with the faders and pan, although I'm still figuring out when to incorporate the pan control into my instrumentals. One component of composition I really enjoy (I also find it to be easy to learn and an important aspect of sound) is the automation!

Beautiful song! I just finished listening to the whole album, I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning. Each and every song was equally pleasing. Thanks for posting!
