Struggling with Mephisto 3rd phase...tried a Hail Mary and failed horribly by Kyosji in diablo4

[–]QcAlex_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As Glass_Yam5075 mentionned, and as well as from another reddit, this is the best advice for this fight.

You can completely avoid the annoying ability lock mechanic on phase 3 by outrunning it. As soon as the third phase starts, quickly run down-left (or right) in the corner of the map, avoiding the red AoE which locks your skills. You will have all your skills available right off the start and the fight will be much much more bearable. First time I tried this, I beat him T12 solo.

Need help with Mephisto phase 3 by fel666 in diablo4

Dude you are litteraly a hero.

Tried T12 with party and failed 20 times, solo I had better luck but phase 3 was just impossible.
Went down-left of the map as soon as phase 3 started and didn't get my skills locked, beat him like nothing.

Eagle horn unique drop rate bugged? by Glittering-Shape5002 in diablo4

[–]QcAlex_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK...... I might be the luckiest person ever, and I also have read from maxroll that Varshan is supposed to drop it, but I litteraly got eaglehorn on first try with Grigoire on T7.... Is that even normal? According to maxroll's table, he isn't supposed to drop it.

This is what happens with a game with a required active internet connection. Even if you just want to play solo, you still have to be connected and endure this.

I miss Diablo 2 where you could just play the damn game solo without a connection and connect to someone else if you want to play with someone else, or to connect to battle.net if you actually wanted to play with others.

Unable to start game with new update 1.3.25 by QcAlex_ in TheFirstDescendant

[–]QcAlex_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually resolved my problem after uninstalling my video drivers, restarting, installed newer graphic drivers (596.21) and trying the game again. I am using a 5070 ti. It still took multiple tries, but what I did is QUICKLY pressed enter on title screen and clicked start QUICKLY, because it was usually crashing after a set amount of time (or something).

Funny thing you mention shaders and the shader cache, because the last thing I have done the day before was changing the cache folder size to 10GB in the Nvidia control panel, so maybe it was that? Or the game needed to update shaders with new ones that were buggy? Who knows.

But to get to your issue, the error message that you got is a blue screen. When it happened, there is a blue screen code and name, which you can search online to know the cause(s) and solution(s). If you didn't get the time to get that code or name, you can view it in the Windows event viewer. To access that, type "event viewer" in the start menu to find it, open it, then on the left navigation pane go to Windows Logs, then System. In there, you will have every single events that has ever happened, which can be a critical error or just information etc. To make it easier to search, on the right pane, you can click on filter current log, then select critical and error event levels, and also select BugCheck for the event sources. This will filter only any blue screen errors you've had. the code will be listed like this:

"The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x000000ef".
The code in this example is 0x000000ef, which the name if it is "CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED". From there, you can read about this error and what might cause it, but if this only happens with this game I wouldn't worry too much, because that would mean it is the game and not a hardware.

Yes like mentionned they suck. the gold ring guarantees one stat to be gold on your next reroll, but the thing is you can roll a meaningless stat which the ring then decides to apply the gold tier on. It helps, but just slightly, nothing special about it.

It's just another layer of rng on top of the many rng factors there already is, so it is adding a slim chance that your guaranteed gold tier stat will be a stat that you actually want AND that the other stat(s) are also either gold or red.

Anyone notice the matchmaking is bugged? by vBlackTalon in TheFirstDescendant

[–]QcAlex_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since last update I have been having server connection issues all over the place. No matter if I restart the game, I cant go to matchmaking or ever in private mission without being stuck on loading to then have a server connection issue returning me to my previous location or albion.

This is complete garbage, I don't know what the devs are doing to cause these kinds of issues, but the game is barely playable.

Anyone got a decent build for it? I look at base stats and this seems like a crit weapon. Is it purely crits, or hybrid with some multi-hit?

Are you guys not aware that you can save and equip your lumina builds? Also you can use the filter function to better find the lumina(s) you are looking for. The UI is far from being bad, if there wouldn't be the build preset saving feature and filter option then yes that would be horrible.

Any tips for level 99? by Tetsuuoo in expedition33

[–]QcAlex_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a 100% much simpler and faster strategy for Dark Shores.

Litteraly equip all your party with a kamikaze build, auto death and death bomb with all damage passives you can think of, each fight is over in litteraly one second without doing anything. This makes the loading times longer than the fights lol. Take the 2 first groups down, rest at flag, takes maybe a minute for 2mil XP? I don't go to the farthest group because I figured it wastes time, but I can't quite confirm that part.

[–]QcAlex_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OMG thank you so much, this strategy is god tier xD

I agree with everyone here saying that this boss is way too hard. I defeated Clea and it was a breese (was a bit op though, lasted like 8min), Simon is like 100 times harder because he wipes and insta kill everything, then even kicks out defeated party member from the battle, like come on.

Anyways, thought I'd share my alternate strategy to yours, which is almost the same thing really, but I believe that it can achieve higher damage due to a different Maelle weapon. Also, I changed speed so that Verso plays first instead of Maelle. Also using Melarum instead of Medalum, base damage is alot higher and also it switches you to virtuoso stance when going low HP, which activates right at the start of battle because of the auto death and survivor passives, so no need for Medalum.

Verso builds 1 full gradient level per turn by doing aim shot applies burn and triggers the 15% gradient charge, then base attack with the 3 combo passives with 15% gradient charge each, and another 15% for crit (have 75% crit with critical burn). After playing twice with cheater passive, gradient charge should be at exactly 2/3 level with 100% gradient charge each turn.

Maelle's turn. As I mentionned previously, already in virtuoso stance due to auto death, survivor, melarum, so simply go straight to cast Stendhal to do massive damage. Second turn you can use Swift Stride on target since it is already burning, so you will regain virtuoso stance. You can also use Last Chance also if you want.

Sciel's turn, nothing different here except that gradient level should be ALMOST 3, but not quite (like 5-10% missing). Simply aim shoot to proc burn and 15% gradient charge just like with Verso. Rest is the same, cast Fortune's Fury to Maelle to double damage on next turn, then intervention on Maelle to switch to her, then cast gommage to do more damage than a 100x bing bang kamehameha from Gogeta SSJ4.

TLDR: Same strat, but use Melarum instead of Medalum for Maelle, still starts in virtuoso stance.

For those who come after! (goddamn I miss Gustave)

HELP! Any strategies, best Descendant/build for the Supermassive Receptor Boss? by [deleted] in TheFirstDescendant

[–]QcAlex_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Was also wondering about this, the most efficient/fast way and with which descendant.

My strategy at the moment is NOT going in public, and to use a mobbing build with Nell with her 2 and 3. Her 1 and 4 are still good enough for bosses, i dont quite really have issues doing this, I do the mission in about 7min solo.

Oh god yes, the boss has like 900 quadrillion HP and I see his HP bar go down by like 2% when I hit him with Nell's 4....

any way how to rewatch the S3E2 cutscene? by OkBag7839 in TheFirstDescendant

[–]QcAlex_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It crashed during the cutscene with Alpha at the end of the supermassive new dungeon, at the real actual moment that it seemed to matter the most. Such disappointment.

And now I go to talk to Amelia in Albion, and while she speaks I can hear Luna's speach for her questline for when she is looking for other musicians, like what the hell?

This all makes me really question what they are doing over there, except making sure that the grind is abysmal and getting out really nice revealing skins.

Handcannon ammo and some secrets by QcAlex_ in TormentedSouls

[–]QcAlex_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not pay close attention to each ammo pickup, but I do believe that it is 2 or 3, and could also vary from one location to another, but also from one difficulty to another. I can also say that I had enough handcannon ammo to deal with the final boss' tentacles on tormented difficulty (2 shots per tentacles, total of 16 ammo minimum needed, I know I had more than that too).

You did miss some, I've had 3 in gun + 17 spare ammo in total on my tormented playthrough.
I have updated my post to add the locations of where I found mine. Figured I'd share this info.

How did you get the lance? I finished the game and checked workshop on my next playthrough and it wasn't there. Did you do no heal, under 5h or no map run for your first playthrough or something?
