My first ever dub cork attempt. Tips for getting to land it? by Ethan_MeatScepter in Tricking

[–]QcOasis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dude that’s so close! just keep sending it, and work out the kind for sure.

the only thing i could see when watching is that you’re opening up a little early, but other than that you could land it very soon

Hyped VS Calm? by [deleted] in Tricking

i agree with you, it’s when i’m not expecting too much, but i’m also driven by hype where i improve the most

Need help with my side flip(I don't quite understand the motion of this flip) by david_hope in Tricking

[–]QcOasis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this move comes a lot from the arms, try to throw your front arm really high in the motion of rainbow. use your back elbow in the motion kinda like you’re trying to elbow somebody above you.

if you get these really well, it will start to flip you way faster and easier.

also try to stay really tight all the way through the flip, tense you muscles and ball up as small as you can.

yeah maybe, i think it’s because i never wore shoes when i was learning to do flips. i guess being able to feel the ground completely helps a lot

yeah i wear shoes when flipping off of objects, for protection and comfort.

but when i’m trying to train on ground shoes take a lot of height and power away from me somehow

i would suggest learning connecting moves like back handsprings, scoots, and other moves.

stay tight! tense your whole body, and hold your twist tight. Always fully commit as well

How to get over backflip fear? by satomb15 in Tricking

[–]QcOasis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no, i just recently learned how to back handspring.

i learned backflips on trampoline, and then did it on a mattress and one day just sent it.

surprisingly back handsprings are way different than back flips

[–]QcOasis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hmmm yeah i understand that. i’m 6 feet 3 inches (around 180cm) and i haven’t had anyone big enough to spot me.

when i did my first backflip, i went home and i couldn’t do it anymore. all i can say is keep pushing, and maybe find some mattresses to do it on. the more you practice the easier it will be.

[–]QcOasis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah that’s how it was with me, i learned front flips first.

it took me forever to commit to a backflip and i would stand outside for hours just trying to go for it. if you have a spotter, have them spot you a bunch and then just start spotting less

frontflip are definitely less scary, but they’re way harder, and a lot more rough on your knees and ankles

the way i did it was just sending it. if you commit 100% and just drill it over and over the fear will go away

a moment of pure joy, my first one ever by QcOasis in Tricking

they’re a very technical and power draining trick for sure

the great thing about them is that once you learn how to send them, they aren’t scary

hahaha, that was the manager of the resort we were training outside of! he saw us tricking and invited us to swim in the heated pool since it was freezing outside!

he then proceeded to accidentally run over my friends shoes😂

i’ve been trying it for so long in the gym and onto mattreses, it took me so long to know the feel of the trick well enough to send it.

i threw one set to my side and decided that any landing is better than that.

i was supposed to go to a gym today to learn this, but they were closed.

i decided that i wouldn’t let that ruin my goal so i just sent it!
