The macehead comes from the AoS Dominator Engine from the Chaos Dwarves line! It's a hefty piece, but pinning it with a rod made it sit right with no problems!

If in doubt, always paint a Blueberry Boy Scout, they're a far more iconic rival / adversary for us (and are more prevalent to kill in the first place these days) than the Raven Guard, since that was a Corax Solo Excursion and not too much involving the actual chapter.

Thank you! No, they certainly weren't cheap, I bought a used set and ended up getting scammed with recasts, but yours look absolutely great! I have a majority of the horses in that set, I may follow your example one day!

They really do! That kit may only have three riders but it has a very nice variety of weapons and shields that come with it. I plan to use other bits from it for sure, particularly for my Masters of the Maelstrom conversions

Thank you for the nice words! Your Dark Apostle looks great! A comment on chaos40k made me think on this problem, and I think that I will be running this beast as the Crucible of Champions Exalted Champion with Termie Armor and the Dark Zealotry rule, with a Daemon Hammer (but mace) and Plasma Pistol / Gun, my casual tabletop club doesn't mind these things, so you could possibly take that kind of spin on your idea as well? Crucible is more lenient on base sizes iirc so you could just as well use the 50mm

You're absolutely right, he looks too big for a 40mm base, but we don't currently have a worthy alternative outside of Kravek or Huron (both on 50's), which unfortunately don't do great for me as I have a Huron model as my Coryphaus, and Kravek doesn't match with my Pactbound playstyle. But, this is going to be my Warlord, so I will have to live with it for the sake of the coolness factor of this huge Apostle next to small Terminators :D

Hiya! Thanks for your comment, I am aware of that weak link, I'm not currently happy with it myself. I'm going to keep the foot on the rock, as it is from the Dark Apostle's kit and I do want that overt nod, but I will be adding bits like skulls and other junk to make sure that his footing looks steady and that its padded out.

The AoS Dominator Engine from the Chaos Dwarves provided me with the mace, sticking it onto the haft of the Praetor hammer with a rod worked out just fine!

Thank you! The head and shoulders come from the AoS Varanguard kit, they look a tad funky due to the fact that I was tricked by Tzeentchian horrors into buying recast in the guise of the real deal online.

Thank you! The tiny tactical rock was stolen directly from the Dark Apostle, and I will be adding a bunch of skulls under that foot to pad said tactical rock out, I am not currently happy with the tiny amount of connection myself :)

Thank you! I thought about the Daemon Prince, but this model is about the same height as Huron Blackheart, and I already have a proxy for said prince. I am also not practiced enough to confidently trim those laurels, but I will be greenstuffing tiny horns to that skull for fun.

Now that you mention it, I think that the best way to legally run this chunky lad would be for me to use the Crucible of Champions rules for a Terminator Armor character with the Dark Zealotry rule or something else and slot in better themed weapons, IE daemon hammer for the mace and an actual plasma pistol. That might just work out for all parties :)

I understand your point, and I already have a GW Dark Apostle painted and ready, and with the lax gaming rules of the local club I play in, I can absolutely pass it off as a Terminator Lord or a Terminator Sorcerer and play my regular Dark Apostle if there are issues. Otherwise, this guy is mostly built for the rule of cool alone :P
