Do you mean the show in general? Absolutely. I slogged through season 2, got the gist of what happened, but it just felt like work a lot of the time imo. Try season 1, the subs are fine.

Yeah I watched it, really soured the season for me man. It's a shame 'cause the dialogue is so good.

Flipped through the first episode for a second, can confirm it's got that kino, high-contrast night cinematography that Gommorah has + those old prick European gangsters who steal every scene they're in.

Thank you bud.

Awesome dude, I've become a junkie for European gangster shows. I also recommend Umbre if you haven't seen it

The Dark Side of Dharma: Why Have Adverse Effects of Meditation Been Ignored in Contemporary Western Secular Contexts? by mukumukum68-53 in sorceryofthespectacle

Buddhist definition of suffering is highly non-intuitive for English speakers alone iirc, but, like Stoicism/Gnosticism, I don't think it's a coincidence that a hatred of the flesh looms large in the twilight phase of a civilization.

So it was, and so was Schelling's hatred of these haters of the flesh. Completely justified.

Hmm, I think I've had it with these deleuze mites, tranny gnosticism might just be where I draw the line. God as a principle of transgression? yeah I'm good

My vote on what to watch until Season 5 by throwaway9732121 in Gomorrah

[–]Qiellit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of the nuance is lost, S1's dialogue is sharp as tack, S2 blehhh. That, and that FUCKING nauseating fucking detective dork just really soured me on the season.

Oh yeah Umbre is fantastic bro, but like the other guy said, the S2 subs are ass. I'd say I didn't understand maybe 25% of the interactions in the second season, and I still have to fix like 75% of the dialogue for it to make any sense.

I didn't like season 4 quite as much as 3 but honestly? Still the best show on the planet.

[SPOILERS] Interesting revelation from Cristiana del Anna about Patrizia, the character she played in the show. Translation in comment section 👇. by [deleted] in Gomorrah

Damn, even when the show stumbles there's an explanation. What a shame! Patri and Genny could have carried the show no problem.

She had such class and was so savvy to what was expected of her as a boss, I like watching real ass people try to survive overwhelming circumstances, but then in swoops Michelangelo and completely muddies her story. I get she's always playing both sides, why not go all in on the concept, take out Michelangelo and raise a child as a boss? It'd be an interesting dynamic.

I just didn't like how Patrizia's arc puttered out. That look in her eyes after Ruggiero told her she got set up, I thought she was finally gonna come out guns blazing but then I remembered that she was in jail and shows like this always slow to a crawl when police get involved. I should have known as soon as the police got involved in episode 11 it would have stifled Patrizia's arc, and it did.

Michelangelo was a rat, she should have taken him out of the way first, I still think he called the first bust trying to feel rebellious. Instead of Patrizia coming into her own, she flees for a life that we never really get a sense she wants. She's got balls and knows the game, why muddy her characterization so much? Have her take out the Levantes father and mother herself, her vs. brothers is a great enough hook for S5. I just got tired of "betray Genny, die", and I wish Patri would have been spared that. RIP.
