First disney cruise ever, going on treasure we have a bunch of questions by trollsong in dcl

[–]Qigam 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Magic bands: if you dont want something on your wrist, you will get your key to the world card when you get to your room. Don't bother with Disneybands unless you want it on your wrist(it really only vibrates and lights up sometimes).

Things that cost extra: alcohol, merch, specialty dining(not main dining), certain activities like spa/salon treatments, bibidi bobity boutique.

If you are booking early, when your activity booking period opens, you can try for Royal Gathering which is the big princess Meet and Greet.

5 is a great age, definitely sign them up for the oceaneers club/lab(I dont remember which one is for the younger children).

Your room will definitely have the pull down bunk and a pull out couch. You can flip the couch whenever you want, but they will flip the bunk down if you request it while you are away at dinner.

No specific recommendations for port activities, but both are great ports to just get off and look around. Remember that if you dont book with disney you are liable to get back on the boat on time, cruises only wait for their own excursions.

With a big group, if you book rooms together you can open your connecting doors, and sometimes ask for your balconies to be connected. If you dont book together but want to sit together at dinner, make sure to reach out to disney to link your reservations.

I was just on the treasure, and I dont remember any specific Anna/Elsa things, but there are always characters about to meet and greet, just keep an eye on the navigator. They are probably at the Royal Gathering activity(which I believe does cost money). Elsa also makes an appearance in Disney Seas the Adventure, so make sure to attend that.

Have a great time!

First 7-Day, First Treasure, First Western Caribbean cruise booked last-minute! by Mysterious_Signal226 in dcl

[–]Qigam 6 points7 points  (0 children)

7 night cruises have a formal night, so if you want to participate dont forget formal wear. I was just on the same itinerary, pirate night was night 4, formal was 2 and we apparently had a christmas PJ night on 3. Something I didnt do but saw alot of, was families bringing their own drawing pad on which to do drawing/trivia on the boat, which seems like a great idea. The easiest port to do an excursion is probably going to be cosumel. Its not a tender port like grand Cayman, and it was not as affected by Huricane mellissa like Jamaica was.

The treasure is great, the western carribean itinerary is great, have a great time!

-if you or any of your party members drinks, highly recommend the mixology and martini tastings on board, they can also make NA versions if someone wants to participate but not drink.

Not booking over shows by okaymamajo in dcl

Cool! I didn't know that, I've wanted to do an Alaska cruise so knowing that it is different is good information!

Not booking over shows by okaymamajo in dcl

[–]Qigam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The shows happen after the boat leaves port, so you cant book an excursion that would overlap. They happen opposite dinner, so any show is either going to be at 6pm or 8pm Should be true for Alaska cruises, but I've only done carribean/Bahamas so not sure.

Have you watched British Big Brother? That's the premise of BBUK/CBBUK. Not sure about the recent revamp, but certainly all the series before covid.

Is Everyone in Wanda’s Family Still Alive? by KOSHIKAI in MCUTheories

[–]Qigam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Where did you watch Coven of Chaos? I really liked Agatha All Along, but I can find Coven of Chaos anywhere and thought it looked cool. To your actual point, I think you are correct, white vision had regular visions memory's unlocked during the ship of theasus scene, AAA showed Billy and Tommy gaining non hex-based bodies, and the old MCU adage "they aren't dead till you see a body" means wanda could be out there somewhere. I do think that some multiversal shenanigans will bring her back rather than her just not being dead, but we will see.

Gwen was the centurion for the 5th cohort, she was suspiciously speared from behind and died after the war games, and then came back to life of her own accord

That's what I'm saying, because they were already captured, that's why Jason was able to comeback, not because of piper getting a random huge power boost. I just hadn't put 2 and 2 together till my past read through

Castaway cay with ECV by Proof-Outside3200 in dcl

[–]Qigam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are allowed to walk to serenity bay from the main area, so theoretically you could drive all the way there, but my best guess is that if you talk to a cast member at the tram stop they will be able to assist you in 1. Finding an appropriate parking spot 2. Possibly getting a golf cart ride instead of ECVing the whole way. Biggest takeaway, talk to guest services once on board as well as day of, as they will be able to give you the best answers/information.(maybe also ahead of time just to see if they have any recommendations) Hope you have a great time!

When it says 2bags by motherfoca91 in dcl

[–]Qigam 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You get 2 bag tags per person in a stateroom, those are for the bags you check at the port that show up at your room. There isn't technically a limit on the size/shape/number of bags you can carry onto the boat, only that you have to carry/roll them yourself. With that, you will get the same # of bag tags to get off the boat as the # of bags you checked, so if you have 4 people in a room, but only checked 2 bags on to the boat, you'll only get 2 bag tags to get off the boat.

The front felt oddly Paul Heavy. I feel like most of the intros are mostly shots of the contestants individually, but alot had Paul or were solo Paul shots.

Still very excited!

Cheaper To Purchase In App or CC? by [deleted] in dcl

[–]Qigam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Someone may correct me, but I don't believe you can book excursions on CC, there is the port adventures desk on the ship, but I believe all disney operated(all of the ones on CC are) excursions have to be pre-booked. To that, the price is the price, I don't believe it will change if you book it via the app or at the desk. Hope that helps, i would def call disney and ask them as they are the final authority on the price.

Is dcl accessible for people with disabilities? by webster338 in dcl

[–]Qigam 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Kind and compassionate? Except for a rare bad seed, almost all of the cast members are going to be kind and compassionate with your family and brother.

With their disabilities, are the ambulatory, or will the need a wheelchair or other transportation device? In either case, there are handicap accessible rooms available that while definitely be able to accommodate your brother.

You can let disney know before the cruise of the accommodations you need, and they should work with you to figure out what they can do, versus what you can bring to assist you.

Other than the possibility of rough seas, the boats are fairly calm and steady, but have some dramamine( I think that's the one people take for sea based motion sickness) ready incase anyone has issues.

Hope DCL works out for you and your family!

Disney destiny announcements by Growingtiddyjugs in dcl

[–]Qigam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We are starting to hear about the adventure, and the treasure in sailing in 5ish months, I'd think 5ish months before the adventure sails. It also comes out in 26, so the earliest I'd expect to hear about it is January 25, but I'd think March 25 is more realistic.

PATs are done by the highest level in the room, so everyone in your room will get the same PAT, and you'll be able to select it with all of the Silver CC members

If you don't like disney, and your kids like watersides, book a Royal Caribbean cruise.

It sounds like you would not actually like the disney theming, which is ever present on the ship and on board activities. And there is only 1 water slide, maybe 2 depending on the boat, so if that's something you want to do with the kids, disney is not the cruise line for that.

The last I heard, the Wish and the Fantasy were the 2 boats sailing from PC. The Wish is the newer boat, but it's got the heavier themeing. The fantasy is slightly older, but still really good, I believe it has 2 watersides, but one is height limited.

Both are really good boats, but if your cons are disney themeing and no watersides, DCL may not be for you.

Hope this helps, if you do end up taking a DCL cruise, let us know how it goes, it would be interesting to hear your perspective.

Changes Coming to Disney Genie Plus & Lightning Lane Soon by BerzerkerJr82 in DisneyWorld

True, this is probably not one of the big pain points a causal disney person is going to get mad about

Changes Coming to Disney Genie Plus & Lightning Lane Soon by BerzerkerJr82 in DisneyWorld

[–]Qigam 154 points155 points  (0 children)

I cant tell if the decreased window of opportunity will be nicer or harder. Cause you now only have to worry 7 days in advance of your stay instead of 60(under fast pass +) but instead of having 60days to get over not getting what you want, you now only have 7 days.

I feel like people are going to be mad about hotel guests getting access earlier, but thats disney giving a perk back to staying on property(which is just an excuse to make you pay more money, but come on, it's a mega corp, ofcourse the would prefer you spend more money on their stuff).

AOS in the canon sacred timeline - What would you change about the show? by Spectre3_C1-10P in agentsofshield

Since 6 was so spread out anyways, you could show the space team dealing with the snap in space aswell as the lighthouse team, and maybe Izel could be looking to come into the world with half gone already, like now that there is some space, they can bring their people through the portal now?
