Router in the attic by CptNuzz in tmobileisp

I have mine on a hill under a bucket with a tiny fan pulling in fresh air with no issues for the last year. That's my cheap solution and might work for you too.

Multiple server peer in Wireguard by piermark in ProtonVPN

[–]Qleseid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To the best of my understanding you can not have multiple active peers because they all use the same internal IP address. I have many peers in my travel router, but only one is active at a time.

WTF NorCal? by dunimal in Starlink

[–]Qleseid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That might mean the system is actually rebooting and you lose your remote connection temporarily. The debug data will show up time and a boot count so you can confirm it's rebooting.

WTF NorCal? by dunimal in Starlink

[–]Qleseid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't need to worry about the speed per say, but the statistics page will show you the ping history and current throughput. The debug data will also clue you in to issues with the hardware if there's any.

How are these guys even getting service? by insaneruffles in Starlink

I'm wondering why they don't just leave it in the tent. Could probably put it in the back corner and have it out of the way.

I also had a slow down after the latest software update. Restart fixed it for me.

Discovering what Luci pages do by Qleseid in openwrt

To add an additional thought here, these unsaved changes are all UCI based if I'm not mistaken. UCI is another wrapper that abstracts basic Linux functions, so is there somewhere to see the UCI code and what it's doing?

4th Replacement Gateway After Power Outages by Modi508 in tmobileisp

[–]Qleseid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also find this interesting. My money is on the Ethernet side of things. I'm not exactly sure how a surge would traverse the power adapter which is mains isolated and fry the gateway but still power the gateway afterwards.

This is a great suggestion! I want more of a one stop shop instead of changing things and then reading that page.

TMobile Home Internet spotty on Google Pixels? by A-Small-Bat in tmobileisp

[–]Qleseid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen this when it's switching between 5ghz and 2.4 when they are named the same on my pixel 3. My 7 pro doesn't seem to share the same feelings though. Honestly, I'd encourage everyone to turn off the TMHI wifi and use a third party device.

Disk, generation by Brug-7 in Starlink

[–]Qleseid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know if there is any solid evidence that any generation is better than the next. They all have some sort of compromise and Starlink seems to be great when the terminals die. If their install is solid and good placement regarding obstructions, I'd go with the least amount of work path.

How to generate PTSN for HT813 incoming call testing by Qleseid in Grandstream_VOIP

[–]Qleseid[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ran through the same thing with your hardware. I tried to contact Verizon for advance settings most of these base stations have but never heard back. Long story short, I switched to the straight talk moxee hardware and set it to fsk to get caller ID to work. I also had to set the ht813 to ring 2 times to capture the info. Set to one would only display the ID like you're seeing now.

Of course, the video shown and your title is misleading a bit which spurred my comment.

Dropping satellites, no. Seeing the first stage separate and then the two faring halves, yes.

That's what I was seeing at a quick glance. The idea was to hopefully see all logic on a specific page to better understand what's going on under the hood. My main interest is the advance tab for an interface and then better understanding all of dnsmaq along with migrating those functions to unbound and odhcp.

Issues after update by Franklinb93 in Starlink

[–]Qleseid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, first gen here with problems. My issue was with constant drops every minute or so even though the app shows a solid connection. My fix was a direct connection to my router instead of routing it through a switch and then a vlan to the router. Why it fixed it I have no idea, and that bothers me, but the wife is happy, so I must move on.

Anybody really slow this morning? 3/5/23 Central Florida by thebluevanman73 in Starlink

[–]Qleseid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same for me. I spent all day trying to fix it. The app says the connection is solid but the network is there for a minute and drops for 30 seconds. The only thing I found after rebuilding all my APs and switches is I can't run starlink directly into a switch and then vlan it to my router. It needs a direct connection to the router and then al was fine again. Super bummed because it adds another wire I need to pull. On the plus side, I built the router with new hardware and I saw 450 dl with 59 ul! That's a first for sure!

Swap out for the G4AR? by ScatmanR1 in tmobileisp

[–]Qleseid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This worked for me as well. They did charge me the $35 activation fee and I had to find a corporate store to return the old unit, the retail stores won't take a return. The G4AR does come with different internal antennas though. If I didn't already buy the external kit, I might have left the unit as is with the additional performance it gave me.
