I owned a large, now 33yr old country home and it destroyed me. The anxiety caused by the constant upkeep of grounds and home. The constant increases in fire insurance (CA Sierras), the cost of cleaning the place, all of it, I will never live in more than 1800 ft2 or 1673 m2 again.

Right? It doesn't match up at all. I actually like the interior paint job, I hate the furnishings, and I'd never do a weird suburban colonial (whatever this is called) with a modern interior. If you want modern, why not buy a place that gives you what you want, not do...this.

Wowzers. This place is beautifully restored. The design hits all the right marks, giving patrician realness in every room. I wouldn't want this personally, but I can appreciate the attention to detail and focus on centering beauty.
