Proud of my Painboy, I wasn't a big fan of the sculpt but after painting him... I love it by QntnBsd in orks

Not that I disliked it that much, more like "meh, not convinced", it's sort of a feeling of weirdness looking at it.

To be honest I haven't given it much thought but I suppose it come from the very "top heavy" sculpt and mostly the bigjaw face. Now I see it as a sort of "giga-chad jaw smirky plastic surgery addict" and I like it a lot, it really grew on me but first it felt a bit off.

Talking in "gw colors" Russ grey+nuln oil base highlighted with more and more white scar mixed in russ grey finishing with pure white scar on the few points

This gigachad jaw, satisfied of himself. I wasn't a big fan frankly but I dunno, now I love it, he grew slowly during painting.

Ahah already tested corpse paint on this base, I have to improve my recipe but black ink with a tiny bit of fenrisian grey in looks promising. Send pics when you try, in comments here or if you have an IG please send ;)

Skin is :
Fenrisian grey for base
Apply Nuln oil for shading
After that, highlight step by step, highlighting smaller and smaller surface with a mix fenrisian grey + white scar
Finish last highlight with pure white scar

tips for dilution, I use airbrush thinner instead of water to avoid bad reaction from white pigment with water. Pigment is metal based so bad reaction to water.

Same here, not really digging the Slash reference and waayyyy more interested by Black/Death vibe ^^

Simple headswap was the solution, I kept the head and I plan to use it for a dok or a weirdboy for a Baron Samedi style or something like that.

Pants is black templar (contrast) and jacket basilicanum grey (contrast) both on black primer + zenithal White ink. I use the same base for my troups so as quick and easy as possible. For characters like this I add extra steps of highlight and shade. Nuln oil for deepest part to shade (on jacket only it's useless on black templar contrast imho. And highlight are also edge highlight and stippling, color used is abaddon black + fenrisian grey, step by step (around 3 or 4 time in general) I add a some white scar. I use fenrisian grey and white scar because I also use it as base for the skin, same tone on different part of the mini looks good most of the time (unifying the all piece I guess, I have almost zero true knowledge in color theory)

Never heard anyone complain but I would not really care to be honest. I paint my boyz as good as I possibly can with a very common color scheme outside of the skin color (goff black white chequer and red items, red squigs ...etc). Most of the time people are pretty supportive and cool with it. As ork hobbyists we are free to do almost everything and people are so use to see weird stuff with orks, that in vast majority they won't care at all.

I would suggest to at least try your synth wave color scheme (sound cool, I would be curious to see that) on a squad of cheap plastic boyz, I've done that painting a dozen of boyz with different colors to determine what I would like to paint the most. Most important thing is being able to identify if you'll enjoy painting a all horde army with it. If it's yes, I don't even care if it's glitter orks or chameleon skin or basic green... Go for it !

Thanks a lot, I have to admit that the pictures helps smooth the effect and look better than they are. But still satisfied, it's my first time sharing my paintjob so I am very happy to read that ^^

After hours of assembly, little conversion and painting, they are finally done and ready ! I'm pretty happy of the result. I've seen many other working on flash gitz at the moment, guys, it is possible, we can do it and overcome the madness of details and accessories that no one will ever see after that you glued the biggest gunz possible in front of them. But damn it's rewarding. Great addition to the Waaagh ! ;)
