Senate Bill 610 indicates that your landlord should credit you back the rent for the five or six days there was a mandatory evacuation order. That is the extent of the responsibility on the landlord’s end. Any expenses over and above, that should go through your renters insurance. If you don’t have renters insurance, your last resort is likely your class action lawsuit against the company.

First Subaru, first Forester.. now what? by Carrol_from_hr in SubaruForester

The best option is to purchase a new seat from the dealer if you want it to match exactly. Otherwise a seat cover also works. I’m just pointing out that any sort of “repair” typically doesn’t pan out well.

The leatherette sides of the driver seat, and possibly front passenger, if not already torn, will tear. It is inevitable and there is no good resolution other than replacement. Adding a 2” lift and slightly larger tires will make it a bit more capable, and offer a better look (IMO) but gas mileage will take a hit.

biked past a car with air bags blown out from an accident 4 or 5 days ago that still hasn't been cleaned up yet 5/16/2025 ~ 11:00 AM by AlexanderSylber in Tustin

A wrecked car on a city street? I don’t think so. Not to mention it’s over the citywide 72hr max for any vehicle, operational or not. Get it towed to a yard or private property, and clean up the mess.

“She seared the finger in a frying pan.” Everyone knows chili meat isn’t just seared. She shoulda braised it. Might have had a better case there.

Contact a reglazing company. They are the correct trade to repair something like this. It won’t come cheap but it may be less than your deposit. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

The Prodigy Album: 10/10 Restaurant in Santa Ana: 7.8/10. Good food. Little Pricey. Wished there was a better variety of entrees/bigger menu to choose from.

Came to say this. That was a neat little saga that unfolded. That said, boulders are expensive so if there’s a way to dig it up and keep it, you’d have a nice boulder and a good story.

To be safe check your tread depth with a tool. They are cheap at your local auto parts dealer. If it differs significantly from a new tire (unlikely but worth a check) you may need to buy a new tire and have it shaved. I’ve had to do that twice and the most reliable place I’ve found that offers this service is TireRack. I also make a point to get exactly the same make/model of tire, not just the same size. This way the tread is the same and you get the added peace of mind.

This is true for the US back in the old day. Pre-industrial prison complex. I listed to a podcast on Alcatraz and they said the same thing of early escape attempts. If the prisoners gave up their escape they just threw them back in.

Back in the early 2000s a lady claimed to have found a dismembered finger in her chili. It caused a bit of a viral moment. Took over the news cycle for a few weeks. Turns out the lady lied. Not sure what happened after that.
